Gay and lesbian couples could face legal chaos if the Supreme Court rules against same-sex marriage in the coming days.
Same-sex weddings could come to a halt in many states, depending on a confusing mix of lower-court decisions and the sometimes-contradictory views of state and local officials.
Among the 36 states in which same-sex couples can now marry are 20 in which federal judges invoked the Constitution to strike down marriage bans.
Those rulings would be in conflict with the nation's highest court if the justices uphold the power of states to limit marriage to heterosexual couples. A decision is expected by late June in cases from Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Some gay rights groups and state officials said the chance the court would not come out in favor of same-sex marriage is remote.
"Recent history of the past eight months, plus all the rulings of the past 20 years, don't indicate that to us this is going to go against us," said Tom Witt, executive director of gay rights organization Equality Kansas. "It could, but a giant meteor could fall on my head in the next five seconds."

Ram through a controversial ruling. Get as many people "signed up" for whatever newly opened opportunity the sham ruling offered. Claim "chaos" if the ruling is overturned or voided.

The Obama Administration could have resolved this way back in 2009. Back then, the Democrats had majorities in both the House and Senate, and they could have passed a bill adding an additional Title section to the 1964 Civil Rights Act that would specifically include civil rights for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people, which would have ended the whole argument right there.
So, IOW. homo’s are to big to fail?

Ruling for it causes moral chaos.
I suggest that all of the district judges who found a right are the cause of the chaos.

The Liberals always claim there will be chaos if don’t get their way...but it’s usually Chaos when they do get their way.

A marriage is bond between a MAN, and a WOMAN, as witnessed before the eyes of God.

It should be chaotic, because there is no legal definition of “gay”, it cannot be determined by genetics, it cannot be determined by family history, or upbringing. Anyone can claim to be gay, anyone can claim to be not gay. It is defined by behaviors, but those behaviors are exhibited on a sliding scale, i. e. various shades of bi-sexual. Does one same sex attraction make a person a homosexual or bisexual? Only if behavior brings that attraction to fulfillment? We are making federal law based on a slippery, sliding scale based primarily in behavior. How is this possible in a supposedly rational society?
If the court upholds that States cannot set standards of any kind then that is chaos. No more genders, no more ages, etc.
