Republican strategist Karl Rove said on “Fox News Sunday” the only way to stop gun-related violence, like the Wednesday massacre at Emmanuel African Methodist Church in Charleston S.C., was to repeal American citizens’ Second Amendment rights. When Chris Wallace asked Rove how we can, “stop the violence,” the long-time gun-rights advocate stated that we have made great strides as a nation in empathizing with the victims of these types of shootings, but the only way to guarantee they will stop is to “remove guns from society.”
WALLACE: How do we stop the violence?
ROVE: I wish I had an easy answer for that, but I don’t think there’s an easy answer
We saw an act of evil. Racist, bigoted evil, and to me the amazing thing is that it was met with grief and love. Think about how far we’ve come since 1963. The whole weight of the government throughout the South was to impede finding and holding and bringing to justice the men who perpetrated the [Birmingham] bombing.
And here, we saw an entire state, an entire community, an entire nation come together, grieving as one and united in the belief that this was an evil act, so we’ve come a long way.
Now maybe there’s some magic law that will keep us from having more of these. I mean basically the only way to guarantee that we will dramatically reduce acts of violence involving guns is to basically remove guns from society, and until somebody gets enough “oomph” to repeal the Second Amendment, that’s not going to happen.

If the 2A was repealed tomorrow, there would still be millions and millions of firearms in this country a hundred years from now.
There is no practical way to remove 300 million firearms that have an unlimited shelf life.
Even getting rid of ammo won’t help. Too many people know how to make more.
The statists already know that compliance with confiscation is less than 10%.
The right to bear arms cannot be infringed upon at this point, no matter what big brother desires.
They can make ownership illegal, but they can’t make ownership go away.

I hate Rove as much as anyone, but in no way do I believe he was calling for the repeal of the 2A. He was simply saying it would be impossible, and it would.

Does anyone really think that these hired hand political elites like Rove, and both political Parties, actually serve the rights, freedoms and economic opportunity of 90% of average Americans. The answer is no whether said Americans lean lean right or left?

Exactly right DugwayDuke. Rove didnt advocate any such thing. He simply observed that thr only way yto prevent such gun misuse would be to repeal the 2d Amendment. It was a hypothetical, ok folks? I don’t like Rove any better than any other Coservative. But please don’t mis-interpret what his words actually were. We lose credibility.

There’s nothing wrong with their reading comprehension skills. They are purposefully distorting his words to advance their 3rd party agenda.
He qualified his answer, saying repeal wasn’t the answer and this evil, Devil Worshippin, Satanic Inspired, Murderer was giving plenty of signals that no one paid attention to.

He neglected to add that banning the Confederate flag would stop violence throughout the world.

Repealing the Second Amendment won’t prevent gun misuse any more than outlawing heroin prevents heroin misuse or outlawing murder prevents murder.
