Donald Trump’s ‘Mexican Rapists’ Rhetoric Will Keep the Republican Party Out of the White House
Washington Post ^ | June 17 | Jonathan Capehart

Posted on 06/18/2015 8:25:25 PM PDT by nickcarraway

In the 45-minute “festival of narcissism” that was Donald Trump’s rambling presidential announcement, one particularly nasty passage proved him to be a menace to the Republican Party. It was the one about Mexican immigrants.

The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.

That plays well with many far-right Republican primary voters desperately clinging to an America that no longer exists. But such rhetoric is the death knell for the GOP — and the party knows it. The Republican autopsy of its thumping in the 2012 presidential elections was blunt in its self-assessment. “Asked to describe Republicans,” the report notes on page 8, “[focus group attendees] said that the Party is scary,’ ‘narrow minded,’ and ‘out of touch’ and that we were a Party of ‘stuffy old men.’ Sounds like Trump.

The Democrats are thrilled about Trump.

Checking facts. In Florida, alien Baltazar Gabriel Delgado-Ros is responsible for at least 5 rapes and assault between April 2009 and Sept 2011.

Mexico is a third-world socialist sh!thole. The free traders trolling here don’t like us calling it as we see it.

Once the RINO’s and dems ram TPP through, it won’t matter anyway. Every job that can be replaced with cheap third world labor, will be.

Any if YOU think your livelihood, or job, or business is safe, think again, because there ARE people out there who WILL do your job cheaper than you, and you will be powerless to stop them from taking over.

That pretty much rules out every politician out there.

The politicians are the ones who make deals with people like Trump, so they can make money in an anti-capitalist fashion.

Notice Trump didn't say anything against TPP. He doesn't want to interfere with that getting passed.

By the way, you are falling for the propaganda of the people you criticize. Mexico is in the top 14 richest countries in the world.

Listening to his declaration speech, I got the impression that Trump is feeling very patriotic. He knows making more money will not improve his lifestyle, which is already the most luxurious any individual can dream about. Also he has reached an age, where making more money ceases to be the driving force. Heck with $9 Billion, the next 25 generations of Trump’s could live in comfort.

From what I got from his speech, he sees the stress middle class is suffering, and feels he has the know-how to re-negotiate all these bad trade deals for the benefit of Americans. If he is willing to refuse money from rich donors, he will not be pushed into going for such horrible job killers as the TPA.

Have’nt we learned something from NAFTA? How many Mexican factories have moved to USA after NAFTA? I know several US factories which moved to Mexico.

If TPA-TPP passes, how many US factories will move to Vietnam and Laos & Myanmar? I shudder at the thought.

You still haven’t explained why you would trust someone who has a past of sending jobs overseas?

It does not make any difference where Trump manufactures his products. He has hotels and manufactures stuff in many countries. So he uses labor all over the world.

What does matter, is the stupid RECURRING trade deficits, year after year with 90% of our trading partners. It is obvious Trump has extensive experience with international business deals and negotiating. He wrote the book on negotiating, which is ALL TIME BEST SELLER in business publications. I don’t know if any other professional politician comes even close to Trump’s experience.

In many years of watching Dana Perino on TV, I have never heard her yell so loud in a shrill voice attacking Trump.

And I know exactly why, because Trump had said “Jeb could’nr answer a question about Iraq for 5 days! How can he lead the country” paraphrasing. The Bushes are rattled badly by Trump.

Trump's actual manufacturing takes place in China, Bangladesh, and Mexico.

I thought Trump makes his money from real estate development? Tell me about Trump's foreign manufacturing businesses. What are they, where, how large?

Hey Capehart, why don’t we get some of these illegals to settle in your comfortable Georgetown neighborhood, or wealthy enclave in suburban Maryland or Virginia, and we’ll see how fast you and the rest of your snobby liberal ilk will respond to that.

Dana Perino on the 5 was flummoxed or playing coyishly dumb about how would Trump bring back jobs from China?

She doesn’t have much business sense since the question is easy to answer.

Well Dana I’ll give you three for starters.

Lower the US business tax rates since the United States has one of the highest corporate tax rates on businesses in the world. Two, get China to play fair by un-pegging the Chinese yuan to the dollar. Let the yuan float on the market to determine its real value. And three, close the gigantic U.S. trade deficit with China. One way is to have China reduce and eliminate Chinese tariffs on US goods.

Trump is the only person telling the truth. The rest of the Republicans are afraid of Communist China, and Mexico.

Go Trump.

Oh didn’t the trade thing pass today. Which of these republicrats of ours voted against it?

He also has reality TV shows.

I don't know all his business, but he sells clothes mostly in China, but some in Bangladesh and Mexico.

He is involved in some Multi-Level Marketing Pyramid schemes too. One of them, ACN, has phones manufactures in China.

Trump would still have to work with the entire Congress and the media. What is he going to do FIRE everybody?

Well a good start would be substantial cuts to bloated government program. They're looting billions. The money is needed elsewhere. Go get a real job.

He could also take it to the people if the bureaucrats in Congress want to keep it business as usual. And they will.

Power of the press. Go public. Spell out what's happening in a very blunt manner. Trump seems to be extremely good at doing that.

Hit the podium weekly get vocal with the brutal truth. Name names. The public will love it. The whole world is watching.

A lot more could be done as well. Our options are dwindling, it's time to use them.

Silly isn’t it? It’s not like the party endorsed Trump. This is like saying Clinton being impeached would keep Dems from winning the Senate. These sort of statements can be made about virtually any action.
