Donald Trump jumped into the crowded and rowdy Republican presidential field on Tuesday, but the business magnate has astutely played both sides of the aisle for years, and has been especially cozy financially and personally with Hillary Clinton.
Clinton, the Democratic front-runner and former New York senator who had some say over policy that could have impacted Trumps vast business dealings, received donations from both him and son Donald Trump Jr. on separate occasions in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2007, according to state and federal disclosure records.
Trump has also been generous with the Clinton Foundation, donating at least $100,000, according to the non-profit.
In another sign of their closeness, Clinton attended Trumps 2005 wedding to current wife Melania Knauss at Trumps Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, along with the likes of Katie Couric, Billy Joel and then-American Idol judge Simon Cowell. (According to People, Clinton had front-pew seating. Though Bill missed the ceremony itself, he did show up to the reception.). . .

He’s doing this to help Hillary. And he will get plenty in return.
Now it makes sense.
Trump is certainly a target for reasoned issues.
The sad thing is, what he addressed are real issues. If he hadn’t addressed those issues, I wonder if he would have been the focus of so much animosity.
What the result will be, is that those issues will largely go unaddressed, and he’ll be shouted down.
I couldn’t care less about the man, but I sure would love to see those issues expanded on.
That’s not going to happen if everyone jumps on the dump Trump band wagon.
We may not be doing ourselves any favors at all by shutting him up quickly.
So he’s a transpubbie!
Of course he is.
At least he talks about real issues.
Name one other person who had addressed the issues he did, nearly as frankly.
Not one out there IMO.
So we laugh him off the stage.
Whew.
He tangentially talked about real issues thus making what he said just a bunch of empty rhetoric.
He could not , or would not , describe Hillary as dishonest during his interview with Sean Hannity today .
He did say that any Republican that was accused of the things Hillary is known to have done or been involved with would be in jail .
But he refused to call her out personally . Danced all around the question and did not answer it . Let’s see if it’s on Youtube
Agreed.
“Donald Trump jumped into the crowded and rowdy Republican presidential field on Tuesday, but the business magnate has astutely played both sides of the aisle for years, and has been especially cozy financially and personally with Hillary Clinton.”
EEEEw!!
“We may not be doing ourselves any favors at all by shutting him up quickly.”
I like the way he’s stirring the pot, Just don’t like the man.
He’ll be great in debates...and I’m a Cruz guy.
Cruz guy here also. But I don't know how Trump will do in the debates. Perry may like it as Trump's presence will ensure Perry won't be the biggest clown on the stage. It will be interesting to see if Trump can or will follow the rules. My guess is no, he tends to make his own.
Thanx DoughtyOne
(btw ... is it doe tee or duff tee ?)
He wasn't addressing those issues, he was mocking them. He has no intention of "building a wall around Mexico and making them pay for it." It was political blackface.
“Hes doing this to help Hillary. And he will get plenty in return.”
My theory as well. Watch him turn into a modern-day Perot when he goes indie later in the campaign. Hillary has very likely promised Trump some lucrative business opportunities for throwing this monkey wrench into the GOP primary.
Trump has no intention of winning the presidency. His goal is manipulating the process so he wins financially later on.
Donald Trump is no better than George Soros.
I probably identify more as Democrat. Interview with CNNs Wolf Blitzer, March 2004So did both Bushes, they just didn't come out and say it.
He can “talk about” issues all he wants, but is very scant on strategies for dealing with them.
