While speaking at the White House Mentorship and Leadership graduation ceremony in the Blue Room of the White House on Monday, President Obama made a statement reminiscent of his now-famous "you didn't build that" campaign line. According to Obama, no one, not even him, is capable of succeeding on their own.
"This idea that somehow we succeed just on our own is just not true," he said. "Nobody does, not even the President of the United States -- maybe especially not the President of the United States."
"There are thousands, tens of thousands of people -- starting with my parents, and now my family -- but tens of thousands -- hundreds of thousands of people who helped me succeed and continue to help me succeed every single day," he added. "Thats the nature of how any society works is we support each other."
"Straw man one is down," one person said on Twitter, mocking Obama's comments. "I repeat, straw man one is down!"
For a number of people, Obama's comments were far too familiar. "You didn't build that, part 2," said one Twitter user.
"[G]reat advice," another person said. "[L]et's just tell everyone hard work gets you nowhere so you might as well just go back to watching netflix."
"Not even the leader of the free world is smart enough to understand that he made it to where he is today because of hard work and determination," one conservative critic said. "He set a goal (to become president) and through conniving, vile, and downright reprehensible falsehoods, he convinced enough of the uninformed to vote for him twice."

“According to Obama, no one, ESPECIALLY HIM, is capable of succeeding on their own.”
Fixed! :)
Wrong. He did everything on his own. Why, just ask his former employers about the long hours he worked at his jobs and look at the excellent grades he got and ask his little white-haired granny how hard he studied and what he sacrificed to get where he is today. Go ahead. Ask ‘em.
Was a /s needed?
Bottom line, he knows nothing about anything.
Note the plural. Who is the other parent? The man named as his "father" didn't help him at all!
