IRS Finds 6,400 New Lois Lerner Emails…Gives DUMBEST EXCUSE YET For Not Releasing Them

The Internal Revenue Service found 6,400 more Lois Lerner emails — but they’re not handing them over in court.

The IRS’ latest excuses are nothing short of infuriating.

Department of Justice lawyers Geoffrey J. Klimas and Stephanie Sasarak, acting as counsel for the IRS, submitted a U.S. District Court filing June 12 in the case Judicial Watch v. Internal Revenue Service. The court filing, provided to The Daily Caller, claims the IRS received new Lerner emails from the Treasury Department’s inspector general (TIGTA) but can’t fork over the emails to Judicial Watch, a nonprofit group suing to get the emails. Why? Because the IRS is busy making sure that none of the emails are duplicates – you know, so as not to waste anyone’s time.

One thing to keep in mind as we watch all of these “scandals” break and the Republican “leadership” refuse to deal with them decisively is the vast, unrestricted collection of phone calls and emails by the FBI and NSA (i.e, Patriot Act), Echelon and Carnivore. Those collection efforts do not discriminate between private citizens, members of Congress, judges, etc. Does anyone really believe that those “character flaws” identified in the course of collection aren’t used to the administration’s advantage?

And there is massive duplication of functions in these agencies. Its not uncommon to see the work of multiple agencies overlapping. This is costly, inefficient and wasteful and needs fixing. However, there are lots of talkers in DC and not many do’ers.

Yep, this will all blow over. Congress doesn’t want to deal with it and the next president will want to move on to other things and pursue their own agenda. Nothing will come of it and Lerner enjoy her comfortable tax payer provided retirement.

I believe you are correct. The various administrative agencies are Leftist strongholds. Should the current regime allow a conservative to become president, he will find thousands of senior bureaucrats will not only resist investigation, they will do all they can to sabotage the president.

It is way past time to reassert our sovereignty and restore the republic.

Article V before we can’t.

Spot on. They will stonewall and attempt to ride things out until the next president. That’s how DC works.
