Not the Onion: Obama Wants to “Diversify” America’s Wealthy Neighborhoods

Heading into the last quarter of Obama's presidency we heard time and time again that these two years would be the most dangerous for the Republic. His disdain for working with Congress, contempt for the Constitution, and propensity to act unilaterally would only be magnified in the remaining days of his term—after all, he’d go big because he’s going home.

Now that he's made everything from health care to immigration precipitously worse, next up on the list is an experiment in social engineering.

The Onion The Hill reports:

The Obama administration is moving forward with regulations designed to help diversify America’s wealthier neighborhoods, drawing fire from critics who decry the proposal as executive overreach in search of an “unrealistic utopia.”

A final Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rule due out this month is aimed at ending decades of deep-rooted segregation around the country.

The regulations would use grant money as an incentive for communities to build affordable housing in more affluent areas while also taking steps to upgrade poorer areas with better schools, parks, libraries, grocery stores and transportation routes as part of a gentrification of those communities.

“HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all,” a HUD spokeswoman said. “The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds.”

As you can imagine, the list of critics among conservatives is lengthy. Among them is Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.), who’s at the forefront of an effort in the House to block the regulations.

“American citizens and communities should be free to choose where they would like to live and not be subject to federal neighborhood engineering at the behest of an overreaching federal government,” he said.

Critics of the rule say it would allow HUD to assert authority over local zoning laws. The agency could dictate what types of homes are built where and who can live in those homes, said Gosar, who believes local communities should make those decisions for themselves rather than relying on the federal government.

If enacted, the rule could depress property values as cheaper homes crop up in wealthy neighborhoods and raise taxes, Gosar warned.

It could also tilt the balance of political power as more minorities are funneled into Republican-leaning neighborhoods, he suggested.

But we were warned, right?

They tried this in Tulsa. It brought drugs and crime to a formerly nice area.

Mission accomplished!

They don’t want whites killed; they want them to pay for everything and maintain the zoo.

They know they can’t (won’t) provide for themselves...

Granted, not all wealthy enclaves are as spread out as Texas cities. They can, hopefully, find an area where the newest ‘residents’ can be placed doing the least amount of damage to propèty values. I do not condone this attempt to foist low-rent individuals into a high-end neighborhood. The kids of Section 8 types will still be looked down upon by everyone else in the area. Just because they live in the same area does not mean they have the same sort of lifestyle. The wealthy kids will always have nicer things, creating animosity and envy among those that do not. It will only further emphasize the tremendous gap between those that have and those that have not. For the one kid that seizes the opportunity to get out of a life of poverty from seeing how the ‘other half’ lives, a thousand will succumb to the lure of crime to take what they see should be theirs.

This is the way this reprehensible social experiment will play out. Low-rent types move in. Taxpaying residents move out. One more decaying neighorhood is created. Just as Zero envisioned.

Basically in the Texas suburbs we ignore each other. I’m on a cul-de-sac and there is one neighbor I consider knowing well. A few others I know their names and we wave at each other.

The neighbors I know well are just as concerned as I am about what’s going to be built behind us.

As for NY or NJ, the blacks these days won’t care. They’ll come in and take over the neighborhood if the rent is free.

But again, it’s not the old neighborhoods Hillary and Obama are talking about. It’s the suburbs in places like Texas that are red. I guess you could say what used to be upper middle class.

I ve been saying for several years this has been going on. They have gave billions to blacks to move into neighborhoods. The nsa/cia is behind this i suspect. The nwo doesnt want white neighborhoods. They want the races to mix to produce biracial children. Also they fear whites, having room to think about issues without non white influence. I already see whites moving out of several nice neighborhoods in my area, because they are moving the handout babies in. They also are moving them in to cause states to go liberal in elections.

This is an over an hour long, boring video that was uploaded to YouTube in 2010: NCRC Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing webinar

I couldn't watch the entire thing, but I saw enough to realize that the title should be changed to: The Ghetto - Coming to a Neighborhood near You

This is not a new scheme by the Left. This plan has been in the works for a while.

That is really strange, we have a section 8 housing subdivision in a rural area outside of St. Louis called “Hidden Valley” also. Even the cops don’t like to go in there.

Maybe a four story unit next to Michael Moore's main mansion... and an extra building for illegals - the kind who like to rape 10 year old boys and girls...

And while we're at it we need to ‘protect’ elites from bad eating habits...No more cooking with cream in their French Restaurants... let their food be as tasteless as a McDonald's french fry...

More importantly, nobody is going to commit to 30 years of mortgage payments (and risk losing value anyway) if the government can just turn their neighborhood into Harlem on a whim. Since many whites no longer breed, they are no longer in the market for homes anyway; this battle will increasingly be fought between blacks awaiting transport to an area where taxayers can provide them with housing, public schools, and emergency services and the Asians who are moving into the formerly white areas.

That is why I now live in an unincorporated part of a rural county. The drive to work is a major haul. My neighbors are nice. Unless asked, we all just leave each other alone. Not everyone can or wants to leave the cities. Those that want to leave, however, are doing so in droves. What used to be open farmland is now sprouting new homes. Many of these new developments also have minimum square footage requirements, effectively pricing undesirables out of the area.

When given the choice, I would much rather have an Asian family living next door than a nest of urban ferals.

I doubt Section 8/low-income housing has minimum square footage requirements; even better - a commute to work doesn’t even have to be factored into the equation!

In my area construction of stand-alone single family homes has stopped altogether (twenty years ago such homes would be built wherever space was available); they are simply a holdover from another era when Americans would live in a home for thirty years, and raise children as well. After a complete halt to construction, now we have apartment/condo-type buildings going up, for childless Americans and imported foreigners. Unlike previous developments, these don’t require school construction as part of the package - they are being built to shore up sagging enrollments in existing school systems.

The most ominous sign is the building of “dog parks”, and the push to allow dogs (not service dogs, mind you) into eating areas in NYC restaurants. Pets are the last “children” of many Americans that are the last branches of their family tress. As I posted on other threads, politics has been reduced to warring between makers (many of whom have no genetic future) and takers (many of whom have no economic future); the latter are winning because at the very least they produce an army of replacement voters.

Makers take into account how many children they can afford. Takers breed indiscriminately and expect taxpayers to shoulder the financial burden. Hence the apparent uptick in Section 8 housing.

Too many makers have decided (for financial, legal, and convenience reasons) that they can afford 0 children; the remaining makers are consistently being outvoted by the growing body of takers with outstretched palms. As I pointed out, people with no genetic future are now arrayed against people with no economic future.
