On Wednesday, the Weather Channel launched a dramatic campaign it says is intended to help shift the climate change conversation from science to solutions.
The series of short videos, called Climate 25, is surprisingly political for a venue like the Weather Channel, and most are aimed at making the case for urgent action from a conservative, Republican angle. Among the featured speakers are U.S. Army Gen. Charles H. Jacoby (Ret.); Henry Paulson, a former CEO of Goldman Sachs who served as secretary of the treasury under President George W. Bush from 2006 to 2009; and Paul Polman, the CEO of Unilever. At one point, Christine Todd Whitman, the EPA administrator under George W. Bush, addresses Republicans directly, saying, Its our issue.

I asked the Weather Channel president, David Clark, about the apparent shift toward explicitly engaging conservatives. We felt that we needed to give a stage to some of the more courageous voices on the right, he said, despite the fact that we are not policy experts; we are scientists.
The Weather Channels TV audience skews older and more conservative than the general public, and thats exactly the people who are most resistant to taking action on climate change, per recent polling data. (Prospectors, a Weather Channel reality show about looking for gold and gems in the Rocky Mountains, was among Republicans most beloved in 2014.) With Climate 25, the Weather Channel made a conscious decision to confront these viewers head on, using voices the channels executives thought would be relatable.

In keeping with the often apocalyptic tone of the Weather Channels website, most of the messages are framed with bold phrases, like this is the beginning of real trouble in our world and the status quo is long gone.

Bill Ayers' outfit?
It finally crept back on, but who the heck watches TWC anymore?
Their new owners were smart enough to try to re-latch a few viewers with “non-weather’ gold shows slightly similar to the wildly popular Gold Rush, but that was very shortlived and no one I know stayed with their far left Globull Warming horsehockey dribble.
Their audience must be very low for them to try to get some attention by attacking conservatives, especially with non-conservative’s like Paulson and Whitman.
NBC will eventually tire is laying out cash to life support TWC and it will be gone.
Bad linky.
You know you are not supposed to have that stuff.

BS- the weather channel IS THE new PBS station- they have been shills for leftist crap for a very long time now, even before they fired Joe Bastardi for not towing the line
apparently ‘scientists’ mean those who are willing to IGNORE the scientific FACT that the percentage of atmosphere that has CO2 in it due directly to man’s production of it is only 0.00137%-
The weather channel is NOT interested in discussing anything- they are a propaganda network that shills for this president- and they IGNORE the FACT that there is so little CO2 In the atmosphere due to man that man could not possibly be causing climate change- but there scam ‘scientists’ all claim ‘man is almost entirely responsible for climate change’
Ask them how 0.00137% of the atmosphere can possibly capture enough heat, and back radiate it in large enough quantities to warm the earth?
Look around on Weather Underground, its loaded with Globull Warmer stuff.
They have to shift the conversation from science, since it turns out they don’t have any to back their position.
No wonder you all gots a drought. Too hot to touch.
Yo, weather channel - bite me.
The WC founder is not a supporter of “climate change”.
I don’t watch the ridiculous ‘Jim Cantore, sensationalized, tor-con’ channel. They jumped the shark years ago.
DISH has Weather Nation and is far better, especially the local interactive data.
Place your right hand on the chair, palm up. Place your left hand on the chair, palm up. Be seated. Remain seated until otherwise directed.
Thank you.
John Coleman, the Weather Channel’s founder, says Global Warming is a Hoax.
First, prove that there is a PROBLEM!!!
You mean people still watch that LIB/PROG, dead dinosaur, global warming panic station?
If I want to know what the weather is going to be for the next 2-3 days I will check my own instruments. If I need a longer term GUESS, I will go on line.
Fascinating. I'll have to check that out! Didn't know The Other Side of the Story.
Will Hubble last another 5 years?

...But Hubble fans should have many more years beyond that to enjoy watching the space telescope fly overhead.
NASA engineers initially projected that atmospheric drag -- friction with the extreme upper atmosphere -- would lower Hubble's altitude and lead to a fiery re-entry and breakup by the end of the 2020s...
...But the amount of drag experienced by the telescope depends on the effects of the 11-year solar cycle on Earth's atmosphere. Thanks to less solar activity that usual during the current cycle, the latest projections show Hubble likely will stay aloft until late 2038.
Translation: The atmosphere contracted, due to cooling, so the Hubble is experiencing less atmospheric drag...
Unless a republican just likes a good lively debate, (and some do) they are wasting their time appearing on that propaganda arm of Obama and Soros.
Bah, you can have your young hotties. Kelly Cass was my favorite anchor and 2nd place was not even close.

At one point, I channel-blocked the Weather Channel. Then, thankfully, Verizon has dropped the Weather Channel in my area and replaced it with AccuWeather.
