"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. I wonder why Marco Rubio gets a pass on this.

we need jeff sessions for prez...does anyone think we can get him?
To: SoConPubbie
it was a misunderstanding to say TPA gave away the Senates treaty power That's stepping around the real issue.
Of course the Senate still has to approve any Treaty.
The problem is, TPA deals away in advance the Senate's right to offer Amendments.
0bama WILL sell out America to the maximum amount allowed by the bare majority of Senators necessary to pass his Treaty. Simply, TPA gives 0bama the power to craft the most harmful Treaty he can get away with.
That's a tactical error, at least.

OBTW - I’m a fully paid up Cruz supporter. I’m still on Team Cruz. I’m just not going to pretend that giving 0bama any inch is a good idea. Ever.

I’m surprised Cruz is doubling down on this and even confronting his usually close ally Jeff Sessions who has far more experience in the Senate. I’m sure Cruz heard plenty from his base so he knows the vast majority of us are not sold on his stand on either TPA or TPP.

Makes sense to me. I hate the administration and GOPe but this may be much ado about nothing in the end.

His presence in the senate is very important. The void he would leave in the senate would be harder to fill.
To: Hostage
‘Cause you said so?
How informative.
Perhaps you would like to elaborate in more than four words.

Cruz is missing the point. Why give Obama any ability to bypass Congress? He’s shown repeatedly he can’t be trusted. I would rather see our trade agreements stagnate for the rest of his time in office than to see him sell the US out again.
To: SoConPubbie
Very confused here. If obozo the assclown is for something then I’m against it. And if nazi pelosi is against something them I’m for it.

Why is TPP or TPA necessary in the first place. Don’t we have enough crappy trade rules and regs going on?
To: pgyanke
Its a non issue that someone is using to manipulate conservatives.
Again I ask, why is Rubio getting a pass on this?

Ted Cruz is simply educating to the truth. He is not doubling down on anything.
Ted is going to say Jesus Christ rose from the dead.
Others will say Jesus is a fraud.
And Ted will say again Jesus rose from the dead.
He’s not doubling down on anything. He’s simply repeating the truth.

because the Constitution says that anything concerning the raising of revenues, and trade bills concern tariffs, which are the raising of revenues, has to originate in the House of Representatives”
ABSOLUTELY NOT SO Mr Cruz, see Obamacare.
Love ya Ted but you are either wrong on that statement or silent on the biggest boondoggle to ever pass a Congress.

Jeff Sessions has done well for us in Alabama but he is about the worst public speaker in the Senate. He speaks the truth which is paramount but his speaking dynamics are not competitive. He could be brilliant in a debate but never generate an ounce of charisma.

And you, my FRiend, are absolutely ignorant of Ted Cruz's statements on this issue and his positions.
Senator Cruz's statement was absolutely DEAD ON and Constitutionally correct.
