Several years ago, at an air show at Dover AFB, I watched a C5-B take off, straight up, then loop before landing. I’ll never forget that sight. Simply breathtaking.

Interesting wingtip design. I bet they were peeling their kit off the ceiling after that initial pushover.

I doubt laughing, a pilot would understand how much thrust it takes to do that. Probably drooling to have that engine in his little mustang. It would look a little funny though.

Look, Boeing didn't make that...

Not quite like a fighter jet. Impressive, though, in some areas.

A friend flew 747’s. He said that sometimes they need to move one from on airport to another. The only payload is a pilot and enough fuel to get to a nearby airport. No passengers, no luggage, no service items. He said the performance was like a fighter jet.

The first thing that I do when booking flights is look at the equipment.
I will always, always, always select a Boeing product first.
More sound-reducing insulation is used and the configuration of overhead storage is consistently superior in an American-built Boeing aircraft.

Impressive demonstration of the 787!
I’ve seen film of the Sikorsky CH-53 doing loops, barrel rolls, aileron rolls and a Split-S. The aileron roll was also filmed from the cockpit.
Sometimes manufacturers will pull out all the stops (to use a musical analogy) to demonstrate their product!
BTW, sitting still on a runway, side-by-side, the CH-53D would beat an F-4 Phantom to 4,000’ altitude, an A-4 Skyhawk to 5,000’.

When I went to Egypt with the MFO the air strip at Sharm el Sheik was under construction so we got off the DC8 stretch in Cairo and flew in on Egypt Air 737. All of the EA pilots are Egyptin AF reserve officers and apparently they train any time they are in the air. Wow! Did things I never wanted to see in a commercial air liner.

Impressive, but not fighter jet performance by a long shot.

Yes, but can it barrel roll, loop or Immelmann turn? How about LAHS runs? Now, THAT would be impressive.
