PAUL RYAN UNCHAINED: LASHES OUT AT BREITBART, DRUDGE, ‘DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET’

FULL TITLE: PAUL RYAN UNCHAINED: LASHES OUT AT BREITBART, DRUDGE, ‘DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET’

You know you’re losing when you’re reduced to attacking the Internet.

House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan is now attacking the Web, proving he shouldn’t be trusted by Republican members of Congress to tell the truth about controversial trade legislation.

In an appearance Thursday on Fox and Friends, Ryan criticized Breitbart News and other conservative media including the highly influential Drudge Report, which have revealed the immigration and climate change provisions within President Obama’s trade agenda.

“Let’s talk about trade. Very odd situation – the president is fighting without Rep. Nancy Pelosi, without Rep. Steny Hoyer, with republicans to get his trade authority passed through. You’ve already discovered through Breitbart and others that there were some provisions in there for climate change, provisions in there for immigration,” Brian Kilmeade asked. “You’ve looked to knock that out and push this forward. Where are you at with trade authority? And are you questioning your own support of it?”

Ryan responded by attacking Breitbart News and others on the internet, like the Drudge Report, which has hammered his support of Obamatrade as well.

I don’t get the outrage, unless it’s just anti-free-trade, in which case just say so.

They are effectively amending the Constitution, by changing the number of votes to enact a treaty, in case you haven't noticed.

Yes, the trade agreements are negotiated behind the scenes but must be submitted to Congress for approval but the bill currently being considered is not a trade agreement.

Think about how a bill comes to the floor of the Senate, the cloture vote is not a vote for the bill, but it sure makes it possible for the bill to be passed. As long as you have been on FR you can not possibly be this dense.

It usually takes longer for a fraud to be exposed but 2.5 years is sill fresh enough to stick in the craw of all FReepers who supported Romney/Paul in 2012.

A leopard never changes its spots. All of you will continue to see your RINO candidates fail.

Here’s your sign.

{Instead, the parties negotiate through give and take, bearing in mind that every country’s governing body has to approve the final deal that results. If the U.S. is taken to the cleaners because President Obama is a lousy negotiator, a GOP-controlled Congress won’t approve it, despite the cries of all the cynics.}

Every trade agreement that has had a TPA has been passed without amendments, no exceptions

What is Paul being offered for him to support such an affront to the Constitution?

I’ve also read that it would take 60 votes to defeat a proposed package. And no amendments would be allowed. Up or down.

This binds Congress in a manner to which they wouldn’t be caught dead voting for if it were something else. It gives a tyrant free reign and makes the bar for dissent all the much higher.

I have more faith in the internet questionable sites, than anything coming out from DC.

She’s fun to watch as she usually stands by while the other insane communist Senator makes remarks. She stands like a zombie staring straight ahead at nothing with her mind in its usual state: idle.

She’s like the proverbial leftist Slinky.

Good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to one’s face as they’re shoved down the staircase.

Don't get me wrong, we've got a big problem in the white house right now, but still I will say it.

Thank G-d this little pr!ck isn't Vice President of the United States right now.

If I could have my way after the next election he'd be back in Wisconsin holding down a real job in a muffler shop.

>>Every trade agreement that has had a TPA has been passed without amendments, no exceptions<<

Yes, they have, and the world didn’t end, did it? In other words, the process works.

Why didn’t Clinton, upon negotiating NAFTA, do all this stuff everyone is all worked up about way back then, if it’s so easy to pull off?

If Obama negotiates a terrible trade deal, Congress won’t approve it, and the entire process will have been a waste of time, which is exactly why it won’t be a terrible trade deal....unless, of course, one is against fair trade deals regardless.

And they were all passed without amendments because that’s exactly what the authorizing process specifies. It’s also why agreements are reached in the first place.

Yes, all that’s probably true. But those issues concern the trade agreement itself, not the authorizing bill currently under consideration. The contents of that bill are not secret. It just specifies the terms of how the up/down vote on the eventual trade agreement will be conducted.

You’re getting worked up about something that isn’t happening, or at least you’re confusing one action with the other.

Look, I don’t trust Obama, at all, but Congress is controlled by the GOP and he’ll be wasting his time if he negotiates the stuff you fear because they won’t approve the deal when it’s finally put to a vote under terms specified in the current bill under consideration.

...Congress is controlled by the GOP...

What's the "GOP"? You mean that party that votes to fund Planned Parenthood, and Obamacare, and hasn't impeached Obama for funding ISIS, and throwing the borders open, and lying about the IRS, Fast and Furious, and fifty other criminal enterprises?

[Yes, they have, and the world didn’t end, did it? In other words, the process works.]

Really, the world didn’t end? You must not live in the same country I do because the world ended for 93 million people not in the work force. The world ended for our manufacturing economy. The world ended for all the employees who’s jobs were offshored to Mexico and Brazil.

Go take you “free market” trolling somewhere else.
