Investigators examining last month's fatal crash of an Amtrak train in Philadelphia now believe they know whether the engineer was using his phone when the derailment happened, a source with knowledge of the probe said Wednesday.
The source didn't reveal the National Transportation Safety Board investigators' conclusions. But the NTSB is expected to make an announcement about the crash at 9 a.m. ET Wednesday.

Okay, now that they ruled that out they can straight to the Waterboarding.
Eight Dead and hundreds injured, some horribly. This guy did more Damage than the Boston Bombers.
Homosexuals have an innate propensity for risky lifestyles...bug chasing, gift giving, abuse, suicide, murder, etc - it is a mental disorder and always has been.
Making a lie legal (sodomy marriage, removal of a disorder from the DSM, etc), doesn’t make it any more true.
Well if the train was not speeding due to stupidity (using a cell phone at the time) then that leaves speeding deliberately does it not?
#22 Not quite the same but here is a baseball being catch and recorded by a gopro (your brain) :)

Gay bashing is no longer acceptable, though. Hell, kids can't even fight back against a bully without being excommunicated from the state church that is public school.
He was trying to kill himself and everybody else. As is common for Homosexuals, he was trying to commit suicide.....
It seems to me that there is a tactic used by police and other interogators, where a crime may be suspected. Ask the person concerned whether he/she will take a polygraph test. Leading question.
Do you remember the increase in speed, before derailment?
Your painting a broad stroke here as to the suicide rate among gays.
I just looked this up and while you are correct in assuming the suicide rate for gays is higher, the real interesting face is that it is very high for gay teens.
Not sure what the rate is for adult gays, the study did not say. In any event is it totally logical to make an assumption that this guy was trying to commit suicide?
I am waiting for more info before going with that scenario.
He’s already admitted to being mentally unstable.
There’s very little doubt that the constant acceleration going into the curve was a deliberate attempt to crash the train.

This guy is shielded politically and polygraphs are inadmissible. It doesn't matter what they find, this will be labeled an "unfortunate accident."
Short of some form of confession, this will be put in the "Unsolved" category.

I have been studying this issue for a very long time. The high suicide rate has been known since at least the 1990s.

All other reasonable conjecture would appear to be eliminated. Let us assume, for example, that the train had an electronic malfunction that caused it's speed to increase. The Engineer had ample time to shut down the Engine, or apply the brakes. He did not shut down the engine, and he only applied the brakes sporadically towards the very end, as if he was having second thoughts.
The most logical conclusion is that it was the Engineer himself who revved the speed up to double for what that curve was rated. Why would someone do such a thing?
I can only think of one likely explanation. I bet if investigators were looking in that direction, they would probably find out he had a fight with his "boyfriend" or perhaps wasn't getting any attention that he wanted.
A fight with his "Trans-Gender" "boyfriend" is why Bradly Manning turned traitor and gave away all those secrets and got all those people killed.
I think that’s it. Suicide by throttle.
It seems to me to be the most plausible idea.
