A police officer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has been suspended after video footage emerged that shows him wrestle a bikini-clad girl to the ground and then point his gun at a group of unarmed teenagers.
The incident happened after McKinney Police Department received several calls on Friday night about a disturbance near the Craig Ranch North Community Pool.
Cell phone footage of the incident shows one officer arrive at the scene and start overreacting in a manner that does little to defuse the situation.

that’s what I was thinking, very unfortunately. But since it’s Texas, I’m hoping they don’t give money away as easily.
It’s never crossed my mind to get nasty with a cop, and I’ve had half a dozen times where I had a right to. it just never ends well.
“Sheesh, what the hell did she do?”
************************************************************
I viewed the entire 7 minute video (on another thread). She would not listen to commands to leave the vicinity (there was the standard mob of feral YOUTS there) and then when he finally tired of her nonsense and refusal to leave the immediate area she resisted detention and FOLLOWING STANDARD POLICE PROCEDURE, he got her to the ground and handcuffed her.
If you’ve ever seen an episode of COPS you see this repeated repeatedly.
Should had waited for other cops to show up in force.
Hey, DM....why mention he was white?
“You just bought that girl in the bikini a college education costing $100,000, a new high end car at $60,0000, a new house at $500,000, and a retirement at $1,500,000.
And that does not include the $75,000 boat that you just bought for her lawyer!”
The cop got over the line. There are more details out there.
The kids were guests at a birthday pool party. It’s a neighborhood community pool.
An older woman at the pool started ripping on the kids and apparently some racial slurs were tossed around.
The cops were called after the woman and one of the teens got into a row.
My wife is lawyer and is part of an online group of other Texas lawyers. She got the info from a couple of lawyers in the DFW area. She also got that this particular cop has had problems in the past from these same kind of actions.
Nah.
I dump on cops ALL time, but WHO KNOWS what happened before the vid started rolling...?
The action had already started well before and we have know idea how much stuff went on, just as with Rodney King (the public was almost never shown the entire video).
There is a certain type of person who really does provoke the cops, and it’s possible that’s what we have here.
I’d side with the cops on this one.
The 3 males showed body language suggesting they were preparing to prevent the arrest —the cop pulled either a gun or a taser and in this melee I’d say that was mostly okay.
Nothing egregious, here.
Pulling the gun on kids in swimsuits is way over the line, but the girl that got tackled will be first in line at the courthouse.
He's a chicken $hit.
At least he chose a job where he usually gets away with it.
“Pulling the gun on kids in swimsuits is way over the line, but the girl that got tackled will be first in line at the courthouse.”
And rightly so. This cop should have his weapons taken and be given a walkie talkie and sent to guard a mall.
Meh, figgers.
Exactly what I thought, thanks.
Were I the cop I’d have done the same.
Chaotic situation.

Pool Party Incident:
On June 5, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m., officers from the McKinney Police Department responded to a disturbance at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool. The initial call came in as a disturbance involving multiple juveniles at the location, who do not live in the area or have permission to be there, refusing to leave. McKinney Police received several additional calls related to this incident advising that juveniles were now actively fighting.
First responding officers encountered a large crowd that refused to comply with police commands. Nine additional units responded to the scene. Officers were eventually able to gain control of the situation.
McKinney Police later learned of a video that was taken at the scene by an unknown party. This video has raised concerns that are being investigated by the McKinney Police Department. At this time, one of the responding officers has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of this investigation.
It has to fit the narrative they got from 0.
They want no problems for feral yout's.
Did you watch the video?
I think that's absurd.
Unless that little girl was guilty of a felony, that cop was WAY out of line.
I don't believe he should ever be allowed to wear a badge or a gun again.
The filming started late, so we don’t know the events leading up to this moment. However, the police’s jib in Thu situation is to maintain order however it needs to be maintained.
So male height requirements to become an officer are now illegal? There should be a standard. If one officer is less than 5ft 5in, they have to travel in pairs. I don’t know how practical that is. This guy was clearly outmatched and being challenged from every direction. Even still, it was not good that he pulled his gun out and charged them. Could he have not used a taser on the girl, so he would not be seen as ‘feeling her up’?
I think the cop handled it badly, but he didn’t do any permanent or even temporary damage to anybody and the other officers who showed up seemed to be able to handle it better.
That said, this thing with kids crashing a party because of Twitter messages - which is certainly not only a black thing - has got to stop, because it has resulted in a number of seriously bad situations.
We used to have mini-riots in one town I lived in because the kids would send out invitations to everybody they knew to come to the house of somebody nobody knew...except perhaps the person who had sent the invitation ... and there’d be literally 500 kids there, looking for beer, in no time at all. The cops in town were specially trained for dealing with this, but even so, there were a lot of arrests and confrontations.
Back in the good 'ole days under Apartheid, South African Police knew better than to pull out guns on unarmed people.
try reading the police report.
You said it yourself - nine police cars on the scene. And yet, only this one numbskull decided to start running around throwing people on the ground. If that was his best, then I am confident in saying that he was the worst officer on the scene.
