Today we head to the range to honor TexasCowboy's love of the 2nd Amendment by shooting lots of guns & eating BBQ on the range.
Friday was a day of leisure, shopping, getting items stuck in a tree, eating yummy food and cursing a stupid fishing poles. Fun times!
Pictures will be posted at some point ~ the wifi is iffy here, so be patient.
Our sweet Cajun Airboat captain really gave us the best bayou tour we’d ever had, and he took the picture with Bryan’s camera because I forgot to pack mine.
Sigh...
I’d love to do that some day. Alligators scare me, but that baby ‘gator was cute.
The tiny hatchlings are quite docile. The one I held never even opened its little mouth,
nor did it try to bite me. It seemed very comfortable on my hands, and I immediately fell
completely in love with it.
I was sad when the captain put it back in the perforated box.
But that was quite a thrill, holding an alligator in my hands, LOL! How many people can
say that they have done so? [giggles] We really enjoyed everything about the airboat
trip through the bayous and the swamps. It was just great.
You know, I think that almost any animal can be trained from a young age. All it takes is kindness, patience and understanding.
I was looking into renting RVs today. I love driving across country, and having our pack with us would make it perfect.
Mega ((((hugs)))) to you.
I may take you up on the visit it Jan.
What day are you proposing?
We always go to the Spread Eagle Tavern for dinner on Wednesdays,
so any Wednesday in January will be fine by us. Just let us know,
and we will either meet you there or you can come to our place and
we can all go in our car.
You pick, and we’ll make the reservation sometime in December.
I will let you know when the time gets closer.
I am planning to visit family back there in Jan when I finally get some vacation days.
I finally bought myself a mid-range priced camera, have yet to be disappointed with the pictures.
You did well! Great photos
Perhaps, but I would never trust an apex predator like a fully-grown
14-foot alligator to be my best friend, no matter how long I coddled
him as a pet. ;-)
The little 12-inch ones are enough for me, LOL!
LOL
I’m ready to start making some serious plans for the next shoot! :)
I think I have found a range and possible place(s) to stay. I foresee a scouting road trip in the near future.
The range should be perfect just for the name alone ~ http://www.hicksvillegunrange.com/default.html.
From just a brief search, it looks like there are some nice places to stay on Lake Whitney.
At this place - http://www.cherokeevillageresort.com/ - we could rent the entire place for approx. $250./person for the weekend.
This place - http://cabinonlakewhitney.com/ - looks nice also.
Good news!
I think the lake idea is a total win.. you should go check it out.
Put it on the TCMS account per usual.
I think I like the second place, Arrowhead Resorts, best if only because I don’t love the idea of the beds being practically in the kitchen as in the first choice. However, if everyone else likes that first one, I can adapt. :)
I want me a Hicksville Gun Range Tee shirt!
bump!
Yes I did. ;-)
Set something in stone and let me know when it's time ta round up the crew...
