Fox News’ Megyn Kelly finally aired her big, much-anticipated interview with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, in which they opened up about their son Josh Duggar‘s public confession that he molested several young girls, including his own sisters, when he was a teenager.
The first time it happened, they explained, was when their son came to them, crying and saying he had touched his young sisters when they were asleep. Michelle Duggar said, “We had one ray of hope in that Josh had a tender conscience.”
There were more instances afterwards, Jim Bob Duggar said, in which their son had inappropriately touched his sisters over their clothes and “a couple of instances where he touched them under their clothes, but it was like a few seconds.” And, as he noted, his son’s victims didn’t seem to understand what had happened to them until it was subsequently explained to them.
They got very emotional as they spoke to Duggar about how they felt they failed as parents and how they came to the decision to send their son Josh to get therapy. Later on, Kelly brought up 19 Kids and Counting––which has been pulled but not cancelled by TLC––and asked, “What would make you launch a reality TV show about your family, given this past?” Jim Bob Duggar said they weren’t worried because the records were sealed and they had dealt with all this years ago.

The bottom line...very bottom line on this whole Duggar affair....when you put your family out there in celebrity form and in full view of the audience you leave yourself completely “open” for whatever follows.... Their Christianity or not has little to do with ‘the exposure’ THEY willingly brought on their family...welcomed or otherwise.
Whatever emotional, overwrought label makes you feel good and supports your idolization of your cultists, I guess.

Years ago there was a freeper that hated Princess Diana. Her hate was off the charts and she vomited her hate at every opportunity. I never could figure out why the hate and anger....until her sister posted that the freeper had died...from a gastric bypass complication. Bingo. I always think of her when I see such unadulterated hatred for another human being. I don’t know what’s going on with you...but there’s something behind that hatred.

Princess Diana was slim and beautiful, the dead freeper was overweight and unattractive. She was jealous of the lovely Diana. I see the same hatred and envy from you. No, the Bible says to "judge rightly". Attacking someone that has already repented and making assumptions about people you don't know is not judging rightly.

No, you don’t need to forgive Josh Duggar, but you act like you do and even stated that you have every right to judge him. Speaking of judging, the problem is that when we judge others for sins they have repented of and to the best of anyone’s knowledge have never committed the act again. Even if he did repeatedly to begin with, there is a point where many of us Christians have gotten caught up in a sin and it took time for us to completely stop the behavior. But, we grow, mature, seek the face of God and when we look back, we are so ashamed of our behavior that we can’t fathom what made us act that way in the first place. As a flawed human, and forgiven Christian, I can totally relate to that. Can you? Or is it that since you think his sin was worse than yours, that he deserves a less amount of grace and forgiveness??

Another question. If your child ever came to you and confessed a sin and you took all the action that you thought necessary, including contacting authorities, etc and you felt that your child had finally came back on a good path, would you find it necessary to remind people, MILLIONS of people, what a horrible sinner they were when they were an underage kid?
And I’m sorry that you have trouble reading and missed where I said several times that what he did was SIN. And a lot of Christians refer to their shady past as “mistakes”...that’s not downplaying it or saying you didn’t MEAN to do it....it’s saying that you making that choice was a mistake. If the word “molester bothers you in connection with Josh Duggar, that’s damned tough. A molester is exactly what he is. And your sympathy lies with him rather than with his victims.
