Indeed. These are human beings, with families.
It’s a loss for many...family is family no matter what culture...I would make an exception and that’s cultures like Isis. Then I don’t care at all.
PLEASE tells me you’re not serious.
LOL. Just a comment on the homogenization of culture.
There is so much beauty, mystery and wonder in the world, but there just isn’t time or money to see more than just scratching the surface for most of us.
A friend went to New Zealand and was freaking out over the beauty of the place while the locals were yawning and teasing her because it was just the “normal” beauty. Then she went to some of New Zealand’s national parks and was just blown away.
How nice would it be to have the time and money to see it all? We really have to appreciate what we can do, because we can’t do it all. China has some amazing stuff and yet I know I will never go there. Too far down my priority list.
Then I’m guessing you wouldn’t hit it?
“...How nice would it be to have the time and money to see it all? ...”
True that...
I figure it this way; every day I get is one more than someone got, so it’s a blessing.
How nice would it be to have the time and money to see it all?
Love your people, do what you can while you can, and try to leave things better than when they were given to you. Enjoy the ride.. It’s way too short.
Yangtze River: “The thing about drowning 458 Chinese people is that an hour later I feel like drowning 458 Chinese people again.”
Colorful native garb, of course, and maybe scimitars for the men.
The Yangtse Song
by Monty Python
We love the Yangtse, Yangtse Kiang,
Flowing from Yushu down Ching Kiang,
Passing through Chung King, Wuhan and Hoo Kow

Passing through Chung King, Wuhan and Hoo Kow
Three thousand miles, but it gets there somehow.
Oh! Szechuan’s the province and Shanghai is the port,
And the Yangtse is the river that we all support.

[clapping]
Yangtse!
[clapping]
Yangtse!
That’s sick.
Funny.
But sick.
That’s reasonable.
Yes it is a tragedy, no matter what the nationality of the passengers. But for those that don’t know many U.S. parents that adopt go on these river cruises before the adoption to get a “taste” of their child’s birth place. If that helps people have some empathy so be it, but it shouldn’t. We adopted and were offered the option of going on one such cruise the week before we were to meet our daughter, but we passed.
As a whole... as a People... we used to have empathy.
That’s been replaced by a callousness thanks to the efforts of the left.
Makes their job easier. Separate, divide, and conquer.
There’s a special place in Heaven for people who give a child a chance at a life in the USA! Blessings upon you and yours!
Agree!
I have been on a Chinese River Cruise...on the Pearl.
China is simply stunning. I have been there twice and hope to go again.
We have two Chinese children via adoption, and their lives (as well as every other person on the planet) are every bit as important as yours and mine.
