Indicted former House Speaker Dennis Hastert was paying an individual from his past to conceal sexual misconduct, two federal law enforcement officials said Friday.

One of the officials, who would not speak publicly about the federal charges in Chicago, said “Individual A,” as the person is described in Thursday’s federal indictment, was a man and that the alleged misconduct was unrelated to Hastert’s tenure in Congress. The actions date to Hastert’s time as a Yorkville, Ill., high school wrestling coach and teacher, the official said.

Good point. Sodomy does not imply force but somehow oral sodomy does.

In the case in this story, if I understand the innuendo, I think Dennis Hastert is apparently accused of forcing a man to give him a blow job.

Sodomy in the Bible was originally seen strictly anal intercourse but the modern definition includes all kinds of other perverted sexual activity, including bestiality. Not sure any of this implies force, but the behavior itself was considered sinful by Christian nations and still is by those who uphold Christian morality.

But, in fairness, also nothing new. Read the full story about Congressman Dan Sickles' murder of Philip Barton Key (son of Francis Scott Key) in Lafayette Park, across from the White House, just prior to the Civil War.

Including the part where, after the war, Sickles used his power to have the section of wrought iron fence he gunned Keys down on moved up to the National Cemetery at Gettysburg. Where his little trophy remains to this day separating the National Cemetery from the civilian one.

But, seriously (and off thread. Somewhat), her testimony was about forcing a religious institution (Georgetown, which is ostensibly a Jesuit school) to violate its religious principles by providing something it considers immoral.

Which is where Rush Limbaugh screwed up what was really a straightforward government control vs religious freedom issue by turning into a sexual thing using the "slut" insult.
