A California high school senior dropped the mic with her yearbook quote.
Caitlyn Cannon, 17, hit quite a few hot topics including, gay rights, feminism and the wage gap in a single quote.
Her friend, Twitter user, @casualnosebleed tweeted out a photo of the yearbook Tuesday morning. Since then it has been retweeted more than 6,000 time and favorited more than 9,000 times
In the quote Cannon said, I need feminism because I intend on marrying rich and I cant do that if my wife and I are making .75 cent for every dollar a man makes.
Cannon told the Huffington Post she was inspired by a Tumblr post but tweaked it to match her identity.
I was tired of seeing the same old quotes from popular books and movies and authors, and I wanted to call attention to a problem that women face, she told the Huffington Post.
The quote has inspired quite a bit of feedback, but Cannon said most of it has been positive.
That’s because evil men are only giving her 3/4 of a penny per dollar!!!!
Men tend to take on riskier and more labor intensive careers than women generally do. Not to mention the fact that the careers that many women choose contributes to this pay difference: especially when they whine about the lack of women in STEM occupations after choosing stupid majors like Womyns’ Studies instead of jobs in said STEM fields. Then, of course, there is the fact that this statistic doesn’t take into account for differences in occupations, positions, education, job tenure, or hours worked per week. It’s all smoke and mirrors used in order to demonize men and capitalism.
Yes, all these are also real factors in the wage differences. Thanks for including.

“Life is one grand, sweet song, so start the music.”
“Don’t be afraid to see what you see.”
“America is too great for small dreams. “
“We need you, we need your youth, your strength, and your idealism, to help us make right what is wrong.”
“They say hard work never hurt anybody, but I figure why take the chance.”
“Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply.Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.”
Agree... That is what struck me about her comment... She is more concerned about money than love or happiness. She defines this as Feminism.
If she wants to marry rich, it doesn’t matter how much SHE makes - unless she means she wants to be rich before marrying at all rather than marrying someone who is rich. The leftists keep acting like nothing has changed for women and blacks in 70 years. They have to, to keep the rabble roused.
Sorry, I got carried away. :) This subject is one of my pet peeves, however.
"Government is not the solution to the problem. Government is the problem. "
Hope she enjoys her meaningless, sorrow filled, lonely, hate filled life.
She's not in the knife drawer. She's in the dish rag drawer where she belongs.
What’s the problem???
Being a lefty she can become a man and make more and support the “wife”...
Yep, no one needs to make her pay for her idiocy. She’ll take care of that herself having a miserable life until she figures it out, if she figures it out...
Very few people get rich working for someone else. And if you’re working for yourself, you can demand any price you think you can get. There’s no 75 cents anywhere in that basic equation.
Thank you. Her stupidity has been immortalized. Too bad she didn’t realize she’d make more than any man if she’d learn to be a great wife to a man (but that’s just sexist).
Instead, as my sister, she’s chosen a life of depression, moral bankruptcy, heartbreak, instability, and physical and emotional abuse. Guess they keep the cops in uniform and the shrinks in business.
I’m the lowest paid decision-maker in my company. Our support staff, 100% women, make roughly 50% of my annual salary after adjusting for hours worked. They work just as hard as I do on a per-hour basis and stay busy each and every day. The difference is that if I make a mistake, their jobs, to some degree, disappear.
If the decision-making team and I make enough bad decisions, the whole company goes bankrupt and all the employees disappear. I would conjur that this young woman, in 20 years continuing on this path, won’t contribute a damn thing to society and will be a drain on society, just like my sister, who chose this lifestyle. My sister’s failure in life by choosing homosexuality is not opinion. It is fact.
Pick one, doll. You can’t do both.
I thought it was a good post.
An old BS liberal talking point that is completely false so she’s gay and an idiot... typical liberal.
I disagree, sounds like she already knows a lot of what she'd learn in college. d;^)
