A California high school senior dropped the mic with her yearbook quote.
Caitlyn Cannon, 17, hit quite a few hot topics including, gay rights, feminism and the wage gap in a single quote.
Her friend, Twitter user, @casualnosebleed tweeted out a photo of the yearbook Tuesday morning. Since then it has been retweeted more than 6,000 time and favorited more than 9,000 times
In the quote Cannon said, I need feminism because I intend on marrying rich and I cant do that if my wife and I are making .75 cent for every dollar a man makes.
Cannon told the Huffington Post she was inspired by a Tumblr post but tweaked it to match her identity.
I was tired of seeing the same old quotes from popular books and movies and authors, and I wanted to call attention to a problem that women face, she told the Huffington Post.
The quote has inspired quite a bit of feedback, but Cannon said most of it has been positive.
Makes no sense. Unsurprisingly.
DUH...
She better marry rich because fixing that mind will cost someone a lot of money.
What a fracking airhead.
And when she can’t find a job because larger companies troll the net for idiots like this to exclude, she will wonder why her dreams for cash landed her on a lesbian porn set instead of a head office for a F500 company.
Women make les because they tend to have gaps in their careers where they arent working. Has zero to do with sexism.
Doubt it is fixable.
Indeed.
What ever it is, it’s all about money to her. She wants to marry rich.
Well, there was a story the other day about the owner of the Bunny Ranch saying women buying women is on the upswing. I guess we know where she can get a job.
the Cali teacher’s union and the lgbtiq agitators have done their brainwashing job well
My daughter has been searching through Ronald Reagan quotes for her yearbook quote next year! Any suggestions welcome!
She was going to try sarcasm with something like “If Global Warming is real we have no future anyway” but decided to stay positive!
Not the sharpest knife in the knife drawer is she?
“Women make les because they tend to have gaps in their careers where they arent working. Has zero to do with sexism.”
I thought women make less because “A womans work is never done”
Well that doesn't make any sense in multiple ways - women do not make .75 cents for every dollar a man makes with equal credentials, tenure, etc. Such a thing has been fully illegal for decades.
Moreover, you can't have a wife without a husband (basic language).
No surprise it has gone "viral", however. Common sense does not factor into the thought process of numerous people these days.
“I believe every stupid myth leftists dream up” - accuracy
“I outlawed Russia. The Bombing will begin in 5 min”
Illiterate.
People don’t seem to notice the 0.75 cents.
She meant 0.75 dollars or 75 cents.
