U.S. military pilots carrying out the air war against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria are voicing growing discontent over what they say are heavy-handed rules of engagement hindering them from striking targets.
They blame a bureaucracy that does not allow for quick decision-making. One Navy F-18 pilot who has flown missions against ISIS voiced his frustration to Fox News, saying: "There were times I had groups of ISIS fighters in my sights, but couldn't get clearance to engage.”
He added, “They probably killed innocent people and spread evil because of my inability to kill them. It was frustrating."
Sources close to the air war against ISIS told Fox News that strike missions take, on average, just under an hour, from a pilot requesting permission to strike an ISIS target to a weapon leaving the wing.

Perhaps you should consider the "Baltimore treatment" approach to your dilemma.
It certainly is no great pleasure to learn that multimillion dollar planes and pilots are sent out to waste time and money to satisfy the ignorant, incompetent First Megalomaniac's ego and self image.
However the risk is not nearly as great now as it was when the supreme leader led his troops into battle.
Perhaps you should consider just walking away. The near future does not look too encouraging about the positive changes to this dysfunctional leadership.

Well, I can tell you from the MISREPs (mission reports) that I read every day, the pilots are correct. The AFCENT mouthpiece parses his words well: “could take place in less than 10 minutes...”
That does happen—albeit rarely. The average would be much closer to the hour claimed by the pilot. Of course, all offical inquiries go through the PAO and often the JAG (Public Affairs and Legal), so they are always the party line.

It’s been VERY obvious that minimum air-support was also & actually given to the Kurds in Iraq and also in Kobane. And, that air support had to happen after some major arm twisting to manage public perceptions; if not would politically look awful for Obi admin. A lot of what Obi has allegedly done to fight ISIS is hot air, make-believe.
Although the western MSM has played up ISIS deaths due to U.S. and coalition air attacks over the past months, in reality the deaths have not been significant in numbers as a result, and ISIS fighters have increased in numbers than decreased.
Call it “rules of engagement” or whatever.. the end result is that it’s been a drop in the ocean & has certainly not even deterred ISIS.
So an F-18 pilot flying 500 mph at 15,000+ feet can positively identify ISIS on the ground?

Yes, it is all for political show. Obama WANTS ISIS to succeed in Iraq and Syria and has the ROE so tight that the pilots cannot engage even if they see ISIS fighters firing cannons at the Iraqis.
