Rick Santorum, the former Republican senator from Pennsylvania, will announce today that he will seek the GOP nomination for president in 2016, ABC News has learned. ABC News' Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos will sit down for an exclusive interview with Santorum this afternoon.
Santorum, 57, is set to reveal his presidential intentions at an event today in Cabot, Pa., near his childhood home. It will be his second run for the White House, almost four years after he won primaries and caucuses in 11 states and finished second to former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in the race for the Republican nomination.

Honestly, he’s better than most.
He’s totally out of touch. An Arlen Specter supporter to the end. He’s a RINO once he gets into DC. The guy is very ‘establishment’ prone (with some hard-line conservative views, but another Sen HATCH!)

GOPe is getting what they want...a rugby scrum that will fracture the Tea Party vote in 15 directions, leading to a brokered convention where they hand Jeb the nomination on a silver platter.
Or in his case, maybe in a piñata.
I welcome his entrance to the race. He is a good man who fought the good fight during the dark years when everyone else was keeping their mouths shut. He at least deserves some respect for that.
Get a grip, and some perspective.
Is this the same guy who, as an incumbent Senator, lost by 19 points? Yeah, he has a chance.
He wouldnt even carry his home state.
His motivation is only personal. He’s probably hoping for some sort of talk show gig or speaking fees down the road.
He got into politics early. It is really all he’s ever done.

Respect for past efforts, sure. Respect for helping Bush get the nomination, sorry, no can do.
