An Air France plane was being escorted to JFK airport in New York City this morning after an anonymous threat was made against the flight, a senior U.S. official told ABC News.
The Maryland State Police Fusion Center received an anonymous call of a chemical weapons threat aboard Air France Flight 22, which is en route from Paris and is expected to land at the New York City airport later this morning.
The threat is not considered to be credible at the moment, but when officials tried to reach Air France representatives they were unsuccessful because it is also a state holiday in France.

I see, 222 223 whatever it takes...
Wanna bet.
Kinda like those COBOL users.
Don't Ask; Won't Tell.
Curiously, your post was 223. LOL
Like those pink coconut marshmallow cakes you find on convenience store shelves... if you get too many of them together in close proximity, critical mass is reached and an explosion ensues. :)
Which somehow produces more coconut marshmallow cakes.
It’s the closest we will ever see to a perpetual motion machine.
All while someone stands nearby the growing wall of marshmallow coconut and muttering “what have I done?”
I don’t suppose either of you ever tried nuking some of those...
One, Area 51, was once a small sleepy town, until a convenience store clerk mistakenly placed four of the cakes in close proximity. The government erected Area 51 to contain the crisis, and make up some hooey about UFOs.
Another occurred in Chernobyl, Ukraine. The Ukrainian government tried, unsuccessfully, to wipe out the cakes by overloading a nuclear reactor. All that happened is that they have millions of radioactive pink coconut marshmallow cakes.
Finally, a pink coconut marshmallow cake event (PCMCE) occurred in the south of France in 2011. The French authorities were able to airlift the entire convenience store to the Antarctic, where the increase in mass is mistakenly attributed to ice growth. Closer satellite observation reveals millions of tiny little pink coconut marshmallow cakes.
This is a serious problem. We will need funding to contain it. Please consider giving now.
See my post 252. It’s been tried in the Ukraine.
Does global warming make it worse?
Umm..
Not really.. ;-)
Not sure what section you wanted to bet on, but whether it was the DO, the FORTRAN, the keypunch, the card reader or the punch cards, I figure if any of those are in your area of experience you are Old Like Me..
And that means we both know that old age and treachery beats youth and exuberance every time... ;-)
Global warming increases the sensitivity of pink coconut marshmallow cakes, so yes, in a way, global warming makes the problem worse.
It was...unfortunate.
Mistakes were made.
Well in that case, I think I’ll wander out to the North Forty and water some invasive plant species with a special solution of (generic) glyphosate..
The Grabweed is getting out of hand. ;-)
..don’t tell the greenies - they might come out and dig up the field. And discover all the assault weapons buried there. The ones that survived the boating accident that is..
Wonder if this will flag nonameplace to look at me again.
Ugh, yes.
The “wait-a-minnit” vines.
