Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I don’t have a huge problem with what the BSA is doing here. It’s a private organization that is openly stating its intent to put its own members at risk, so nobody with a sense of decency who keeps their kids in the Boy Scouts has any reason to complain if something bad happens down the road.
This is being done not for the purpose of gaining acceptance of homosexuality, but for the purpose of destroying an American and Chritian icon.
“Parents, you’ve been warned. If you leave your children in the Boy or Girls Scouts of America, anything that might happen is on your head.”
Pretty much says it all. Time to end the so-called “Scouting” movement altogether. Our church disbanded their unit 3 years ago.
I think all you need is one screw-up where some 40-year old guy rapes a 11-year old kid. Just apply the law, and put the guy in general prison population and let the system work the way it should. Then turn around as the family and sue the guy’s estate (I’d figure $2 million is a good start), and then sue the BSOA for around $20 million for not providing protection. Basically...the prison system will fix one problem and the legal system will help to destroy BSOA. Out of the eventual ashes....BSOA will get fixed.
