Waco police took issue with online conspiracy theories regarding Sunday's shooting at a Twin Peaks restaurant, with a spokesman saying Thursday the department "can't wait" to show the public "what truly happened."
Police have said after a disturbance in the parking lot Sunday, a fight began in the restaurant's bathroom that quickly escalated into an armed brawl and shootout that left nine motorcycle gang members dead and another 18 injured.
According to Waco police, the deadly altercation began after one gang of bikers showed up uninvited to a planned meeting of other motorcycle groups at the restaurant.
"You will eventually see what happened at Twin Peaks," said Waco police spokesman Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton in a news conference Thursday at 5:30 p.m. "I've seen it... It was horrible."
Sgt. Swanton said video of the fight and fatal shooting won't be available to the media or public until the McLennan County District Attorney's Office decides to release it, and that that time may not come until the investigation is much further along.
Swanton said there is currently no time frame on when the investigation may be complete, explaining that the nine men killed Sunday were more homicides than his department investigated in all of 2014. He also cited the complicated nature of the crime scene, which stretches from the interior of the restaurant to well into the parking lot.
More than 300 weapons have been recovered from Twin Peaks and the parking lot. Many were hidden throughout the restaurant, though police have not specified whether the weapons were placed there before the shooting or hidden by suspects as police responded to the chaotic scene.
Swanton specifically addressed those who have claimed online that police instigated the violence Sunday.
"Those who were involved know law enforcement did absolutely nothing to start this," Swanton said. He later said "a criminal element at Twin Peaks" started it.
Earlier this week, officials said there were 18 local police officers as well as four DPS troopers in place at the restaurant prior to a motorcycle group's event on Sunday because they were aware of the potential for violence.
LOL — You were the one who started criticizing my definition and felt compelled to defend your “opinion”.
I called it right, you knew full well what I’d been talking about.
GFY.
(It’s on, folks. The FR fascist kapos are on the offensive.)
So you “know” there was violence before the police started shooting?
Seeing is believing. I have read some descriptions, too, but I want to see the unexpurgated, unedited video with my own eyes.
you need to retrace your steps.
I had no Posts to you until you Posted to Me.
Go have another drink.
LOL — YOU suddenly started feigning surprise at MY word definition.
KEEP ‘EM COMING!!!!
Sounds more and more like Kent State. IIRC there were some who thought they deserved it, too. I used to know someone who was there. He said he just walked out of Chemistry Class when students around him were shot. Out of control people with rifles in public. Note, students, not demonstrators.
you need Mental help
GO AWAY
In fairness the police made it quite clear numbers etc. would change as the investigation progressed. That’s just the natural way investigations go.
It’s not about honesty...it’s about a demanding public that think investigations are like driving up to a fast food joint....instant gratification. That’s why the public is referred to as “Consumers”....of information as well as everything else...and they want it now...and they want it right. Guess what...not going to happen.
When they release information the charge is on to create the situations rather than let the investigation do what it does.
IMO the same people defending these bikers are the same kind that jumped on all the other investigations of “their” people.....rather then wait for the findings of fact.
Amazing the blame game going now....next we’ll here it was Global Warming that caused the shooting.
Ever hear of the Shedden Bandido biker-on-biker massacre? You know, the one where bikers murdered 8 of their own?
The only thing I have found is the audio of the radio traffic from the PD. They call for backup, tell backup not to go to Twin Peaks because shots are still being fired. They ask for EMS to stage nearby due to gunfire. They discuss a suspect armed with a handgun down, but crawling between vehicles and still shooting. There is some discussion about entering the restaurant from a specific side and evac'ing people inside in a safe direction. No calls about being engaged and firing, but if I was shooting I wouldn't make those calls, either.
That was what I ran across, just an audio. No video.
The term is Climate Change.........;)
Yup. They need time to edit for content.
I know... this is the third time they’ve changed it....but I still call it Global Warming.....because they continue to claim that.
LMFAO @ You! Please keep hurling those mindless insults in defense of your arrogant willingness to believe everything you read on ABCCBSCNNNBC/AP.
Folks, giving these fascist kapos the opportunity to show their true colors is almost as much fun as outing leftist freaks at FR.
God bless America and keep us safe from alleged conservatives who are simply bullies and thugs.
Like the comment though. It’s the most accurate thing posted on this thread so far.
“IMO the same people defending these bikers are the same kind that jumped on all the other investigations of their people.....rather then wait for the findings of fact.”
Funny, I haven’t seen any defense of bikers en masse, just a serious unwillingness to believe the AP’s script as written because it’s SO suspicious.
A lot of these posters the fascist kapos are attacking SUPPORTED the cops in Baltimore and Ferguson, myself included.
What’s happening with this story and the FR thugs now is much, much worse.
