A STUDENT diversity officer at the centre of a sexist and racist row has attracted support from leftfield equality campaigners... which has backfired spectacularly.
Controversial Bahar Mustafa was ordered to resign after tweeting the hashtag #KillAllWhiteMen and banning whites and men from a meeting at Goldsmiths University.
The vice-president for welfare and diversity at the institution’s student union claims she’s not racist, describing her language as "in-jokes" within minority groups.
As nearly 18,000 critics signed a petition ordering her to be sacked, supporters have started using the hashtag #supportbaharmustafa.
One wrote: “I #supportbaharmustafa because white, cis men already have their own safe space. It's called EVERYWHERE ELSE. Jesus.”
Another said: “I #supportbaharmustafa because all the criticism of her is proving her point over and over.”
But the hashtag has already blown up, with critics now using the same Twitter tag to promote the change.org petition calling for her sacking.
One sarcastically wrote: “#supportbaharmustafa because racist, sexist cultural marxists are essential on college campuses to ensure all students have safe spaces.”
Another tweeted: “#supportbaharmustafa by firing her. She clearly has no business acting as the Union Diversity officer. Fire her immediately.” A union spokesperson said: “The union recently received a request to hold a motion of no confidence in a sabbatical officer and we are now ensuring that due process is being held in accordance with our articles of governance.
"This entails a secure petition being signed by three per cent of our a membership at which point a cross campus vote will be held. We have given a platform for both sides to put their case across in a balanced way and these are on our website.
"This is now a matter for the student body.”
But according to those same rules, if a white male student is accused of sexism - or even rape - by a woman who was on vacation at the time, he is immediately suspended and put on trial without an attorney and without evidence, on peril of even the smallest possible accusation against him, in a closed university star chamber proceeding held by marxist feminist women.
