NAPA (CBS SF) A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Napa County Thursday evening, the largest quake to hit the Wine Country since a magnitude 6.0 struck the area. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake struck at 7:53 p.m. about 9 miles north of Napa and 6 miles east northeast of Yountville, at a depth of 9.3 miles. Calls flooded into the KPIX 5 newsroom from all around the Bay Area to report feeling the earthquake, including calls from El Sobrante, Pinole, Colma, and Fairfield. The quake was mostly felt in the North Bay and Napa County, but people from Sacramento to Point Reyes said they felt the quake.

Do shaken grapes make better wine?
Rock ‘n Roll.
Hmmm I am here in Martinez, and around that time I felt like was slightly being swayed. No jolt this time just a faintly sway. I thought I was going nuts because recently we were having swarms in our neck of the woods. Now perhaps it was that 4.1 I felt.
Climate discombobulation alert!!!! Grape juice tsunami warning? Probably some of that millions of degrees center of the erf magma shifting around. Or maybe it’s just trying to get out of California. :>} Hope everybody is okay.
Let’s see ...widespread drought, eathquakes, bankrupt cities everywhere, inordinately high level of liberal / commies / illegal aliens / homonazis...i think I see a pattern emerging...
Oh no! The wine!!!
Last time this is what I saw on the news casts, it was all about the wine.
Dan frackers...
4.1? Really? C’mon, don’t be wimps.
I think St Helena is the prettiest part of Napa Valley.
“6 miles east northeast of Yountville.” Nice area. If nearby, please visit the Robert Louis Stevenson museum in St. Helena. His stories for children are still wonderful and promote bravery, modesty and thrill. He was an amazing guy.
That place was a disaster when we rolled into town, some of the houses we ended up shoring up were over 110 years old. In some sections of town every other brick fireplace was on the ground. At the end of the day we ran into a couple guys from the building department and told them we were going to shore up and stabilize some houses and they said keep it going. They issued free building permits right over the counter. It did take a couple of weeks due to most of the city buildings were trashed. They were going door to door all day tagging buildings with OK, warning, or condemned. those poor bastards looked really burnt out.
Is that an old prohibition photo?
It’s from the August 24, 2014 Bay Area Quake (6.0).
If it weren’t for the metal building, it could pass for damage by the law.
I cant imagine what doing that sort of job would have been like.
I felt no tremor here in “central” marin county this time.
During the last quake at Napa, it woke me up.
Its a nice area indeed.
yes indeed..regardless of the size of this particular quake.... current “conditions” do seem to be of Biblical Proportions
Fracking isn’t real good for WINE! The Grapevines and the earth the grow from...has been Microaggressed
