Indonesia yesterday sank a large Chinese vessel as well as 40 other foreign boats that had been caught fishing illegally in the countrys waters, a move likely to spark a strong reaction from Beijing and other regional capitals.

Turkey was moderate until the socialists took over.
South Korea spineless?
Cool! Someone actually enforced a law?
Indonesia Ping!
Well, this should anger the PRC.
When did I start getting Indonesia pings?
I said In the Knee Pains

I don't feel compelled to always "take sides". I would not side with either of them. :-)
I think it would be a ‘sit back and watch’ sort of affair.
The PRC as well as everybody else, except Banky Moon, most likely will sit quietly on their butts, faces, hands, take your pick, because the story seems to have lost something in translation. The problem at the moment is not fishing but immigrant smuggling and the Indonesian gummint has stated they ain’t putting up with it. Wetbacks coming from Burma ( yeah I know Myanmar) are bailing out of the upper country and heading for Indonesia. In the meantime Indonesians who ain’t happy are trying to escape to Australia. Whole lotta migratin’going on. There hasn’t been a word in the Asian press about illegal fishing-—that’s just SOP in Asian waters. As with the Euros and North Africa the fix at the moment is to sink the smuggle boats. It seems people need to stay home and fix their own half assed gummints.
I’d like to see the Indonesians kick some PRC butt over this Chinese encroachment into Indonesian territorial space.
The Chinese are actively increasing their strategic control over regional ocean waters and sea lines of communication and commercial shipping. They are building islands and seizing islands and turning both types into military bases. They sure need SOMEBODY to take them down a notch. It is unlikely to be the United States as the U.S. Navy believes that Global Warming is the biggest strategic threat in the Pacific. (The Obamessiah isn’t the only government official backing this lunacy/political ruse.)
“You are joking, right?”
It’s a surprise isn’t it, one of the biggest populations and a territory (including seas) that stretches the equivalent of from Alaska to Bermuda but most people would be hard pressed to locate Indonesia on a map or name one pertinent fact about it (other than on FR where everyone “knows” Obama was born there).
I lived there for years and my old man asked me once, “So where is Indonesia exactly? Is it near Singapore?”
Singapore is a tiny dot compared to Indonesia but more people know about it than its enormous neighbour.
The Indonesian Army is one of the major outlets for non-Javanese and Christians to get power in Indonesia. It is one of the more stable forces in the country, it utterly destroyed the Indonesian Communists in the biggest defeat the Reds suffered prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union and the international left not unnaturally loathes it.
“I would date many of the Indonesian women.
Just sayin’.”
Don’t get me started. The most beautiful, charming, friendly, sweet, sexy and fun girls you could ever want to meet, I was hooked almost from the first few hours of my first visit, almost 13 years ago, and still am.
Put me on your ping list please.
“Mobilizing the island”
I think you meant islands, plural. There are thousands of islands, some massive, in the nation of Indonesia. Several of which are notoriously inhospitable to foreign invasion, such as the island of Borneo.
Yeah, thanks, just what I needed, another website with more pictures of hot looking Indonesian women for me to look at as I surf the internet. Because really I don’t already have enough of them. ;-)
At least this one is almost safe for work, unlike most of the others I stumble upon (entirely by accident you understand, I mean to type in beautiful Indonesian sunsets or beaches or islands or stuff but somehow...).
They execute quite well. And decisively.
“I don’t feel compelled to always “take sides”. I would not side with either of them. :-)”
Those evil “Entangling alliances” force governments to take sides on issues that are not of their making. False flags have been used many times to suck nations with alliances into wars.
I agree and don’t take sides until I understand a situation and see it as a direct threat economically or otherwise. The global actions we see today are often too murky to understand what really happened.
