Zuckerberg Ally: Americans Losing Jobs To Foreigners: ‘This Is What...Whole Country Is Built On’
Daily Caller ^ | May 9, 2015 | Rachel Stoltzfoos

A venture capitalist associated with Mark Zuckerberg’s immigration lobbying group Fwd.us insulted American workers who lost their job to foreigners at a recent immigration event, saying they got what they deserved.

“You know, I’m relatively crude on that,” capitalist Lars Dalgaard said at the National Journal event that was partly sponsored by Fwd.us, which lobbies for more legal immigration and a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants. “It’s like, if you want the job, make yourself able to get the job, you know?”

Dalgaard, who Fwd.us boasts is one of its “major contributors,” had been asked by the Journal’s Niharika Acharya to respond to concerns about hundreds of American workers who were recently fired by Southern California Edison and more or less forced to train their foreign replacements.

“Like, nobody’s going to hold you up and carry you around the world,” Dalgaard continued.

They find ways to try to say there were no qualified American workers. Like they did in Las Vegas driving out teachers.

Then the Republican governor signs a bill so they can hire illegals as teachers.

Well they drove out good teachers. Had principals making 6 figure salaries writing up teachers for anything and imposing new rules to make it easier to write them up. So they get rid of already tenured American teachers.

Now bring in the illegals.

They made new procedures. Put in investigative interviews a new process to write up tenured teachers and create grounds for the constructive discharge of teachers. They then lost over 8% of the teacher workforce in one year in Clark County Nevada. Then they sign a bill to let illegals be teachers.

Americans could fight this trend by reinventing themselves as freelance contractors. The foreigners are attractive because they don’t have hopes of being with a firm for years and years.

Perhaps...

Years ago, I believe that being an independent contractor as a solution would have been very possible ...when the H-1B visa worker had not yet “come of age.”

Not sure if the numbers were less then, lobbyists had not yet changed the playing field for companies, or if we just had a much stronger economy able to absorb foreign workers.

However, in this economy, even as an independent contractor, IMHO it would be difficult for US worker to compete due to the reduced number of jobs available and the reduced wages that H-1B visa workers are willing to accept.

Also, your comment that they are attractive because they don’t have hopes of being with a firm for years and years is ironic because these workers are much like indentured workers in that it is not that easy for them to seek greener pastures away from their sponsoring company to cnange jobs

Major political Parties support their corporate paymasters. It’s a race to the bottom for 99% of us, a race to the top for 1%.

This is more proof the powers that be, from both parties, want this country destroyed. Bush won. His daddy said “There is a new world order.”

Sadly a lot of Free Traitor Freepers would agree with this POS.

Agreed. There is a certain smugness that permeates those who have not experienced job dislocation. However, seems to me that all had better be on guard as fewer and fewer jobs are “safe” in this new economy which the globalists have created. If the H-1B visa workers don’t “getcha,” the artificial intelligence or robotics are right around the corner :(

I believe at some point, the GOP will split down the middle, with half promoting American businesses and Americans, the other half promoting foreign production, and foreigners.

I really believe that.

What we need to do now, is to start to plan for that, and to build alliances with other who believe as we do.

Right now.

Interesting you say that because Durbin (D-IL) is actually working with Sessions on this. I think this may be the first time I have agreed with something Durbin has done.

It’s all about incentives. We need to find a way to create incentives to get people to do the right thing.

The left has managed to change society and culture with negative incentives. To do the right thing in almost any sphere of live will cost you now.

It s/b the opposite. It should be easy to do the right thing and costly to harm others.

As for the Free-Trader types, they are selling out Americans just as much as the left are. They don’t care how much pain their policies are causing Americans, hell they don’t even care if America survives.

H1B’s don’t make less. Get American kids to start getting STEM degrees and we won’t need to hire H1B’S. Until then, we need more H1B’s.

A hot war with China would fix a lot of domestic problems.

I am one of those Freepers that doesn’t want the federal government to subsidize American workers by blocking cheap labor or discouraging outsourcing. In the long run, our country is as strong as its economy. I want America to stay strong.

I just don’t understand why people like this don’t get it. Once upon a time, the country was very open and under-populated. We logged, we mined, we built blast furnaces, railroads, great bridges. All of this required people — and we didn’t have enough. We brought over the Irish, the Chinese, the Italians, the Poles, you name it. Let’s not forget blacks from Africa — we had crops that needed harvesting, nobody wanted to do it, so we got slaves and brought them over against their will.

A growing economic power needs workers, and immigration is a vital part of that growth.

But, guess what? We aren’t growing. We don’t log, mine or manufacture all that much any more. Land reclamation, bridges, damns and whatnot are bad for the environment. We’ve become static, or shrinking. Our standard of living is declining, and our labor force participation is plummeting.

We don’t need to import workers any more. It doesn’t make sense. Unless, of course, you’re the Big Boss Man and you want to have desperate people competing for work and willing to accept pathetic wages. In that case, immigration is awesome.

Bump!

The reality needs exposed - too much wealth in the USA has been used to destroy, corrupt, and indebt the USA for most American CITIZENS, and to destroy our legacy culture.

Meanwhile the big shots in both scheming Parties come up with stuff that cover this up while working on other stuff to divide us as a nation.

Agreed, but don’t you think that being unemployed (for whatever reason) makes it very difficult for individuals to do much to combat the larger issues you address?

This displacement of US workers by H-1B workers is happening with many companies. There has been much recent publicity regarding Edison and Disney.

I don’t put soft labels on these traitors. They are what they are, just as are many in Congress that put the interests of residents of and other countries first.
