The CNN Republican primary debate on Sept. 16 will be divided into two parts featuring two different sets of candidates: those who rank in the top 10 according to public polling, and the remaining candidates who meet a minimum threshold of one percent in public polilng, the On Media blog has learned.
The debate critera is more inclusive than the first Repbulican primary debate hosted by Fox News on August 6. That debate will only feature candidates who finish in the top 10 in an average of the five most recent national polls. The remaining candidates will get airtime on Fox News on Aug. 6, but will not be included in the debate itself.

If Peter King enters the race, will they have a third debate for candidates polling less than .001%?

Only top candidates should be invited. The rest are distractions who should be culled.

I agree.. Why doesn't the GOP set up their own debates and invite the media to cover if they wish. The GOP should also provide their own moderators. I am tired of the liberal media framing the debates as they see fit; or as the dems want them too.... The GOP would be even less likely to allow a Cruz or Walker into its debates....they fear conservatives as much as the Left hates them.
