Is someone projecting? Just a little?
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, a resident of the extreme right political fringe who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, told reporters in Texas on Tuesday that the left is obsessed with sex because he keeps getting questions about marriage laws and the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans.
Is there something about the left and I am going to put the media in this category that is obsessed with sex? Cruz said.
He went on to borrow a particularly mindless comment from his colleague, Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, who said in April that gay-rights advocates should get some perspective because gay people are executed in Iran. Mr. Cruz took it one completely illogical step farther.
ISIS is executing homosexuals you want to talk about gay rights? he said. This week was a very bad week for gay rights because the expansion of ISIS, the expansion of radical, theocratic, Islamic zealots that crucify Christians, that behead children and that murder homosexuals that ought to be concerning you far more than asking six questions all on the same topic.
Lets just toss that remark in the dustbin of campaign foolishness, and focus on his first comment that asking about laws that ban same-sex marriages, and laws that ensure that gay Americans do not suffer discrimination, represents an obsession with sex.
Perhaps Mr. Cruz doesnt get this, but fighting for gay rights and marriage equality has nothing to do with sex. Would Mr. Cruz say the same thing about the constant discussion among Republicans about the sanctity of heterosexual marriage and relationships between men and women?
If anything, it is the right that is strangely devoted

Cruz is getting Palinized, and the real race has yet to begin.
However, Cruz has just won a meaningful poll in FL - which has surprised all the MSM .. but I’m not surprised.
I’m not sure which the left is more obsessed with: sex, or other people’s wealth.
No doubt. Both the Libs and the RINOs went after Reagan with the same gusto but he prevailed. I pray that Cruz follows the same trajectory.
They’re only interested in deviant sex, legal or otherwise.....
It borders on a pathological obsession, no?
Thereby proving Cruz’ point.
The Texas Camelot:!
Justice Ginsberg says it in her every opinion. Imagine, a bunch of 225 year old religious males dictating to her!
The truth is always deemed insane by the left.
But delusion is, and the libs live in delusionalville, too.
:^)
I used to believe this was merely because the media celebrities think that it's an issue they can hurt Cruz with, but now I'm no longer so sure. When the focus on perversion becomes this obsessive, there may be other impulses at work.
The flak is always the heaviest ... when you're over the target!
Remember when Ken Starr

One of my foremost rules of life is NEVER to think about Ken Starr. There’s a guy who made a point of appearing before the media, each day, taking out his garbage.... but, yet he was an utter failure in throwing out the garbage!
Headline: Washington Discredits LGTBBLTOMGPDQ Community
Dateline: December 26, 1776 Trenton New Jersey
Gen. Washington: I’d like to thank all my men who endured such fowl weather and made a daring crossing of the Delaware River. Their courage knows no bounds.
Reporter: How many LGTBBLTOMGPDQ members were on your boat crossing the deleware?
Gen Washington: What? BLT? My men were with minimal rations, but performed admirably.
Reporter: Did you have any transgendered on the crossing?
Gen. Washington: What? Transportation? We had several rather leaky rowboats which we borrowed for the crossing.
Well, they are. How else do you explain making birth control an A#1 top issue in the 2012 campaign?
