So, does that also strike down New Jersey’s requirement that you “prove a need” to obtain a carry permit?
Mind you, I still consider ANY requirement for a permit or registration an infringement...
I don't think so. This is a US District Court. It may have to be appealed, and ruled by the Supreme Court, before it will apply to the entire country.
NJ will probably not honor the judge’s ruling. Their case will probably have to be adjudicated separately. They won’t give up their bias against armed citizens easily.
I too. I see no need for any registration. Thank God my dad didn’t need it in the old days. He had some 3 longarms as a kid in Maine, and moved to Maryland with all. Still has them. Those were the days, no questions asked.
Tell you what, if SCOTUS says states have to recognize gay “marriages” performed outside their borders, I’d file suit the next day to extend the same recognition to firearms.
I don’t understand. Recent court rulings have used the most absurd reasoning to find that certain things violated the constitution.
Yet the second amendment gets ignored in so many states.
In Massachusetts I am puzzled as to why I have to pay a fee to exercise a right. No fee = no permit.
