Bristol Palin and fiancé Dakota Meyer are calling off their wedding, which was set to take place this weekend.
Former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin announced the cancellation of her daughters nuptials in a Monday Facebook post, writing the couple has informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.
Palin wrote that, although it wont be a walk down the aisle, a shindig of some sort will still go on: Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway and the Palins and Meyers are happily looking forward to still being at the old Kentucky home on May 23 to celebrate life, in general! Bristol Palin, a 24-year-old former Dancing With the Stars contestant and mom to 6-year-old Tripp, had announced her engagement to Meyer, a Marine and Medal of Honor recipient, back in March.
Recently, the pair had been dogged by a tabloid report claiming Meyer had a secret wife whom he had married as a teen and subsequently divorced.

What Palin problems, a called off wedding, Bristol having had sex once with her high school sweetheart 7 years ago and not aborting the child?
The Palins are a fine upstanding family.
Bristol's ex Levi married someone a few years ago and they named their daughter Breeze Beretta.
Either she or he is crazy. I like her crazy. She is purty.
I am aware of these things that she has done, which are a bit different from accomplishments.
Reality tv appearances are not accomplishments.
Sounds like she’s doing fine financially. Good for her.
How about her years of promoting life and abstinence, you seem to disapprove of her role in conservatism and fighting abortion.
The fact you’re calling my “observations” of Bristol’s public lifestyle “attacking her” reveals more than you might be aware....I like Sarah ‘s views from time to time....but Bristol is not her mother....and in fact too often a thorn in her side IMO.
The nuptials weren't called off, the gala was.........
Sounds to me like they were scared off by the expected MSM hoards.......and rightfully so.
Good, have your party amongst your friends and family and keep the MSM away...........
It's unfortunate so many folks here suffer from predisposed biases as well as reading comprehension..........
They’re several notches below dignified, I think. They come across as a mess.
Because you aren’t observing, you are attacking.
Bristol is a pro-life activist and conservative spokeswoman herself, aside from her mother.
It is good, as is her work for the pro-life and abstinence movements.
130 comments on THIS? smh
God Bless the Palin Family. They deserve some peace and happiness. I’ll have to say, they have been blessed in the midst of all the persecution they’ve endured. Sarah will always have a special place in my heart.
Sounds like the opposite to me. The marriage has been called off but the party is still being held.
I give Track, her older son, credit for keeping himself out of the limelight. He hasn’t moved to cash in on it a bit.
But then again, as you point out, the majority of pols’ and other famous people’s children refrain from seeking the reflected glory in the celebrity family business.
Palins aren’t any trashier than the Clintons or the Kennedy’s. Probably less trashy considering none of them have been “secretly” arrested for drugs and alcohol, or murder. If they were, good grief, we would all know about it.
One thing is certain. That Willow is a ringer for her mother, even with the goofy cranberry color hair.
If you look at post 107, it looks like the pro-life movement and the abstinence movements sought out Bristol Palin, and her natural charisma and looking good in front of the camera, led to more work, even a TV series.
What is it that Bristol Palin has done wrong by accepting TV work to carry her conservative message forward and to make a living, honestly and legitimately?
I’m missing the evil here.
Right you are -— but only if the original attempted marriage was annulled, e.g. found by a Church Tribunal to have been not a binding, sacramental marriage from the git-go.
Oh well, the party will probably last longer than the marriage would have! LOL
