A fast-food worker took an idling ambulance for a short joyride from the Paris Pike Wendy's to the Connector Road Marathon station before being arrested Thursday night, authorities said.
...
Georgetown-Scott County Emergency Medical Services Director Dave Sloane said an ambulance crew had stopped for dinner at Wendy's and left the ambulance idling.
Ambulance crews frequently leave their vehicles idling while on break to maintain equipment that cools medications, Sloane said.
They received a dispatch call, he said, and when they came out, the ambulance was gone.
"One of the (restaurant's) employees decided to go for a ride in it," Sloane said.
Wendy's officials later told Georgetown Police Hughes had been sent home because she appeared to be impaired, Swanigan said.
After taking the ambulance, she drove to the Bluegrass Liquor Box on Lawson Drive, where she attempted to purchase Fireball whiskey, and also struck an awning at the store with the ambulance as she attempted to use the drive-through, he said.

A person took the Ambulance for a joy ride.
Wendy’s had nothing to do with it.
What did Wendy’s do to warrant any attachment to this crime?
I guess the Wendy’s employee was in need of medicinal alcohol.
If anyone died as a result of the ambulance being unavailable, the charge should be 1st degree murder.
The Bluegrass Liquor Box. Sounds like a classy joint.
Tara Anne Hughes, 31, of the 600 block of Seminole Trail, Georgetown, is charged with theft by unlawful taking over $10,000 but less than $1 million, Scott County Detention Center records show. She also is charged with driving under the influence, first-degree criminal mischief and possession or use of a radio that sends and receives police signals.
They sold a franchise (if this wasn't a company owned store) to someone who failed to fully screen their employees. Real Americans drink sour mash, not Canadian whiskey with candy in it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fireball_Cinnamon_Whisky
Good grief, she’s 31 and still this stupid? Must have a serious problem.
Ed
Seriously? ?!! THAT’S what she was charged with??!! Theft of more than $10,000 but less than $1,000,000???!!!
So, if someone takes a Harley or a Space Shuttle for a joyride, it’s the same charge?
Good to know!
The Shuttle weighs in at more than 1000X a million.
right after the behind the timeser is the woohoo partier.
$15/hr suckers! Pay up!
Ya think?/s
Well, I suspect it still wouldn't rile them up in this day and age. This is a weird planet.

She needed the whiskey, so she took the amabalamps.
