Cellphone video captured an emotional dispute on the side of the 10 Freeway in the Mid-City area last Friday between members of a funeral procession and a California Highway Patrol Officer who pulled them over.
A uniformed traffic escort was leading a procession of about 100 cars to Forest Lawn Cemetery in the Hollywood Hills to bury family matriarch Sandra Louise Behn-Capel when they were stopped for traveling too slow on the freeway, according to Humphreys daughter Rachel Behn-Humphrey.

Another one of those only in California moments. :-)
Her where I live, funeral processions are led by the police with their flashers and lights on. In fact, I just saw a policeman stop and monitor a traffic light to allow the procession to pass this morning.
They do that here also if using streets or feeder roads. But they often shut down all southbound lanes to let one pass, rather than just allowing them to occupy one lane while through traffic continues on the other two lanes. Guess it matters how important the deceased person was while living in the City.
It’s not the taxpayer’s responsibility to fund a parade for the family. Do you think that the deceased cares at that point.
I’m glad that our church discourages these modern spectacles. Private interments, followed by a memorial service at the church.
You called out someone who was adding additional relevant information, rather than checking out the facts to either concede or refute. Of course I'm going to rub it in.
I didn’t “call out” anybody. I asked for a link. If you think my use of “obviously” was a call out, you’re one touch fella.
There you go again. “Rub it in”....sheesh...you like word games, don’t you...... do you drive a Prius and have wine snifter glasses too? You’re just full of smug snarky.
“but he caused an even bigger traffic jam than the funeral procession itself.”
That would be the problem. He created an even bigger mess.
Ponch, you’re going back to training.
1. You stop your Patrol Cycle at side of the road and dismount.
2. Face the traffic
3. Stand at attention and GIVE A HAND SALUTE until the last vehicle passes by.
4. Only then can you remount your Patrol Cycle.
Got it? Good.
Or maybe the rent a cop shouldn’t block traffic. Whichever amuses you more.
Would you like to add any other irrelevant points that also don’t bear on the incident in question?
No. Did you wish to ask any more strangely leading questions about a widely reported local story?
This CHP officer is a PRODUCT of our declining education system. His very thinking reflects it.
How low can a cop go? Keep working at it. Turn every against against police officers, a.h.
