The U.S. Department of Agriculture is pushing back against a campaign criticizing First Lady Michelle Obamas school lunch rules by showing one picture of a somewhat appetizing childs lunch.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and in the digital age we have ample opportunity to document and broadcast every moment, meeting and meal, wrote Deborah Kane, the national director of the USDA Farm to School Program, in a blog post Thursday.
We have all seen those unappetizing photos of food served at school that quickly go viral, she said. A lonesome whole wheat bun atop a sad fish fillet; a mysterious-looking meat mixture served next to an apple. Its natural to ask, Is this what they serve for lunch!?
No, its really not, Kane said.

I agree-—not one of my kids would have eaten that.
.
With her vast experience, she should run for President.

“Yeah....theyre using social media all right. Only its not to show how great their food is. Theyre taking names for payback in them kids permament records!”
I want to know how much of our tax money being spent on personnel to perform the propaganda work IN ADDITION TO the food that goes to the flies!
If the lunches are so great, then they should be served to everyone in Gov’t, from the President, right down to the lowest level employee, all day, every day.
If that every happened you would see the food improve rather quickly.
“Yeah!! It’s ‘Cockroach Friday”.”
Well, you must admit, they are high in protein and are said to be rather good toasted.
“The children will be asked to report their parents to authorities if they hear anything negative about the government meals.”
That’s next.
See something, say something.
I’m more concerned about where all the money for this is coming from. Michelle Obama is not an elected, nor hired official. How can she direct the Federal Government where, and how to spend my $?

Let me get this straight.
The govt is showing pictures of meals that children won’t even be fed?
Huge, delicious, healthy portions of food that so one is even getting?
Uh, er, um.......you first....on second thought, I'm really not THAT hungry.
Meanwhile, back in dee cee...
Feds to Use Social Media to Combat Complaints about Michelle O School Lunches
The Federal Government.
Nice use of forced perspective to make the portion look bigger in that pic.
Seems fair given that domestic animals reliably vote Democrat.
My kid goes to Catholic school and I have packed her lunch every day since kindergarten. Yes, it’s a pain in my butt but it is worth the effort.
Homemade chicken nuggets, raw almonds, filtered water, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes and an organic apple is what she had on Friday. I challenge Mooch to tell me her slop is healthier. Fat pig.
Such propaganda by Deborah Kane.
Nanny State PING!
What is she, like 6? There’s no way she’s going to eat that much food.
Thanks for the ping!

“In George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the Ministry of Truth is Oceania’s propaganda ministry. It is one of the four ministries that govern the nation. As with the other Ministries in the novel, the Ministry of Truth is a misnomer and in reality serves the opposite of its purported namesake: it is responsible for any necessary falsification of historical events. In another sense, and in keeping with the concept of doublethink, the ministry is aptly named, in that it creates/manufactures “truth” in the Newspeak sense of the word. The book describes a willful fooling of posterity using doctored historical archives to show a government-approved version of events.
As well as administering truth, the ministry spreads a new language amongst the populace called Newspeak, in which, for example, “truth” is understood to mean statements like 2 + 2 = 5 when the situation warrants.
In Newspeak, the ministry is known as Minitrue.”
