Heidi Cruz's work for the Council on Foreign Relations: Building a North American Community
The Council on Foreign Relations ^

The Task Force offers a detailed and ambitious set of proposals that build on the recommendations adopted by the three governments at the Texas summit of March 2005.
The Task Forces central recommendation is the creation by 2010 of a North American community to enhance security, prosperity, and opportunity. Its boundaries will be defined by a common external tariff and an outer security perimeter within which the movement of people, products, and capital will be legal, orderly, and safe. Its goal will be to guarantee a free, secure, just, and prosperous North America.
Shared challenge of uneven economic development. A fast lane to development is crucial for Mexico to contribute to the security of the entire region. Mexicos development has failed to prevent deep disparities between different regions of the country, and particularly between remote regions and those better connected to international markets. Northern states have grown ten times faster than those in the center and south of the country. Lack of economic opportunity encourages unauthorized migration and has been found to be associated with corruption, drug trafficking, violence, and human suffering. Improvements in human capital and physical infrastructure in Mexico, particularly in the center and south of the country, would knit these regions more firmly into the North American economy and are in the economic and security interest of all three countries. Leaders in our three countries have acknowledged

Only the lowest bottom feeders go after the families anyway. Calling me a bottom feeder is cheap and beneath you.
Ted and Heidi are a power couple in the same vein as Bill and Hillary, or Bob and Liddy Dole. It's incredibly naive to think that you shouldn't look at both sides of these couples if you want to know who you are voting for.
I think we Freepers did lots of looking into Hillary during Bill's first run, and because of it we had a lot better idea what we were really getting.

Well, in the interest of looking into both sides of the story, why don't you read the parts of the story left out of this post in this article?

For me, it's childish and inappropriate to even be looking at that based on where the campaigns are.
Cruz met my list of 5 requirements. Romney didn't hit a single one.
Romney wasn't 'imperfect', he is a dang liberal and the GOP-E tried hiding that behind the 'purity' meme.

Thanks for the link to that post. Unfortunately, we know the other side will do this and worse to all the candidates and, sadly, to their spouses as well.

True, but it’s best to be armed with the WHOLE truth and not just the selected parts that some people want to use so as to smear a perfectly good candidate.
It’s also necessary to hit back hard on the attempts to smear with the truth at every opportunity.

Please educate yourself.
You guys are quickie than libs to make smears out of nothing. You are all just adding to the crap that will show up on searches and perpetuate the smears into eternity.
I trust Cruz. That is why I support him. If he blows it I may never vote again. But this and the trade crap are just plain crap.

I didn't say that Heidi Cruz was part of a conspiracy. You are doing a great job of burning a straw man.
I linked that actual full CFR report. I quoted it, I did not summarize or characterize it.
This has nothing to do with the the John Birch Society, that's a smear and name calling to deflect the actual facts.
I trust people to read the report for themselves. Heidi Cruz is clearly listed as one of the "Task Force Members" and the authorship of the paper is attributed to the Task Force. Further Task Force Members could choose to endorse the report. She did. (This can be seen on page 9 of the report).
In summary, this is the furthest thing from a "smear campaign", I'm merely providing a pointer to Ms. Cruz's own work. If that's a smear you have a different view of that term than I do.

And I didn't say you were. I just offered more evidence so the record was clear. Don't mistake the title of an article to be the intent of my post.

I once sat on a committee to study environmental impacts on the community. I tried to keep things in bounds and used common sense as my guide. Doesn’t mean because I sat on the committee I was an environmental nut case.
I understand associations mean something but I need more information about her role as a member.

Well Jack do you think you are presenting some new information here, Cruz is smart and so are his "die hard" supporters; keep looking there is more of the same such non-sense to be had out there.
I get it; you don't have an agenda you are merely concerned for the rest of us... most obvious Jack!
