A redheaded high school student in England has been banned from classes for being too ginger, the devastated teen said.
Emily Reay, 17, of Cumbria, was scolded by teachers who told her she couldn't come back to the Trinity School in Carlisle until she gets rid of her natural bright auburn locks or "tones it down considerably," according to reports.
"I was very angry at first, and then burst into tears," she told The Telegraph. "I've had the same color for the past three years, and nobody at school has commented on it."
The burgeoning musician's hair, which has hints of orange, had been a "bone of contention" since the beginning of the school year, the news site said. It reportedly falls under the category of "unnatural" hair colors like blue or green.
But the Monday news still stunned the teen, who won an award for best hairstyle during prom.

You remind me of my kindergarden teacher who furiously told my mother that if I came to school with mascara on again, I’d be suspended.
They were my damn natural black eyelashes. Triple row. They grow all the way around my eyes, even in the corners. (But there’s only one row there and, thank Gd, they’re very short. But still black.)
And yes. My hair was light blonde.
Good catch.
But it’s still a color that does exist in nature.
I read it as she’s had it all the 3 years she’s so far been in high school...
Ancestors of contemporary redheads? Probably not.
The real Neanderthals
What neanderthals really looked like

It’s amazing to me how this silly thread is being taken so seriously by people. I’m so very sorry your kindergarten teacher abused you. By the way, I wasn’t your kindergarten teacher and the girl in this photo has dyed hair. Why she was kicked out of school is beyond me.
I am what ‘they’ would call a Swarthy, Ruddy Irish type? Guess that means because I wasn’t a redhead? (I remember ‘back in the day’ that the word was that a ‘ruddy Irishman was nothing but a n..... turned inside out’ probably because the Irish were overseers of the slaves and if one escaped they had to take their place?????(Don’t have a clue but......)
Anyway, my wife is sort of dirty blonde, oldest daughter somewhat blond but darker, youngest daughter blond.
Son in law red head (with oldest) and their daughter was light skinned and redhead, oldest son same and the youngest son was dark and swarthy..around about 13 or so I heard the two referring to their brother as ‘Our little Mexican Brother’.....guess the genetic reason being he took after his mothers side(mine) of the family.
The UK has been given over to the mussies. In schools, work, where ever. You say anything against them and you’re the one who’ll be charged. Never mind they go out and murder at will. I guess that’s the UK equivalent of free speech.
BWAAAAAAAA! Great!
I have dated and lived with so many redheads. I love them! But it was a mistake to marry one!
Just pick the most “WTH?” answer.
:D
I went to school with a girl who had light orange-red hair and transparent eyebrows/lashes.
One day, she decided that she was sick of the ribbing and died her hair jet black.
Just...wow.
Irish myths always speak of women with either golden or red hair and brows as black as raven’s wings.
My skin is a gold tone and I have freckles.
Didn’t get any of it from the Irish side.
Only I and my Welsh third cousins look this way, in the whole fam damily.
The headline is a lie. She got in trouble for dying her hair into attention whore red fad freak show. I bet she has tattos too.
She’s no “ginger”, which is a natural red head. It’s time to move along from the “progressive’s” cultural darkness and take rap out with it.
LOL
I’m a natural red-head(well on the sides and the back, the stuff on the top fell out ages ago), and anyone who wants to bully me for it can say hello to my friends Smith, and Wesson.
It was such a distraction, no one noticed, or bitched for 3 years. Long fad...
And Tats? So? She has to live with them. Not us. Her call. What anyone else thinks of it is on them. I will never get why people so interested in ones personal freedom have such an issue with tats. Personally, I think they most often look like crap on women but then I have the choice to not marry one.
Every time the devil takes a soul a ginger gets a freckle.
I’d love to see ONE person who has that shade naturally.
Agreed. Vibrant red is one thing. That color came out of a bottle. Natural hair isn’t that intense.
You can tell her natural red hair color is coming in at the roots. The eye brows look penciled in with darker color.
