YOUNG AMERICANS GOING GAGA FOR SOCIALISM [Reagan Warned Us]

Ask youth and Democrats in America what they think of socialism and a growing number will answer in the positive, pointing to Norway, Sweden and self-declared socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders as their examples, a new survey showed.

YouGov conducted a survey of how Americans these days are viewing socialism, and the perception has greatly changed since Moscow Red Square military-parade days.

In general, 52 percent of Americans say they have a favorable view of capitalism and 26 percent, a favorable perception of socialism. But those numbers change dramatically with the younger set.

For those in the under-30 range, “36 percent have a positive view of socialism, while 30 percent have a positive view of capitalism.” The over-65 age range of those surveyed, meanwhile, maintained a negative view of socialism. Only 15 percent gave it the thumbs-up, while 59 percent favored capitalism, YouGov reported.

Any time someone mentions a love of Socialism, the famous and hilarious Bert and I story springs to mind.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjKNZrn9_OY

The punch line is:

“Damn you, Enoch, you know I have two hogs!”

Seems like, the young ain’t got two hogs.

We were able to move 20 some years ago so my kids could go to the same HS I did, a pretty good school then. They didn’t get the same education I did (turns out pretty good, even though I was a disinterested student). I thought I did a good thing. Caught on a little late to the insidious social engineering. It’s way worse now.

Its been 38 years since I was in high school. At that time it was one of the state's largest high school, in the middle of suburbia. The best of everything in a high tax district. Today, it is an old inner city school, in a low tax district. Some of us graduates get requests to send money to help feed many of the students who often go without food. I still live in the same city, but not in that area. I guess it is the normal course of "things."

This is actually good news, when you think about it.

The generation that is absolutely going to get screwed under socialism more than anyone else is receptive to socialism? I say let them have it. LMAO.

Implementing socialism after you're already $18 trillion in debt is like ordering new lifeboats for the Titanic after it has already struck the iceberg.

What's next, I wonder? Will we find out that young people support the idea of raising the retirement age to 137 for anyone born after 1990?

We Baby boomers were the last to be taught about America in school. And it was starting to change in the sixties when I was in high school.

There are basically 3 generations of voters today. And 15% of those over 65 favor socialism. I wonder what the percentage is of those age 45 to 64. I’ll bet it’s not good.

This is why CWII or the revolution, or whatever you want to call it, needs to happen NOW while the older generation who remembers the Constitution and how this country was founded are still around.

I keep in turmoil wondering if this is the next step. . as you say, 'while were still around'. .

After much thought, to me it's:

Article V push along with elect straight out majority conservatives (unlikely to happen but certainly worth working towards). If they're both hijacked, then it's on to our patriotic duty of CWII in one form or another. It's not North vs. South, it's All of America vs. The Beltway, . . what 500+ individuals?

Let's hope restoring our Sacred Republic will happen without bloodshed. Restore it we shall; we have no other option.

Solzhenitsyn warned us as well...

Indeed. I wonder how many high schools still have his work on the reading list? A relative handful of private schools, would be my guess.

The Soviet Union lasted more than seventy years. It's bitter to contemplate that *generations* of people right here at home will be headed down that same path.

How many of these 'young people' recently hail from socialist countries?

"Fundamental transformation".

The video game epidemic fills their minds with despot anti-heroes who spout totalitarian think. The heroes never have real jobs but exist as extensions of the gamer to exert simulated destruction on everything that threatens their existence. This Millenials and Generation Z have minimal social interaction other than through a phone or skype. And, politics is through the lens of the game heroes which serve to eliminate all who stand in their way.

Well, you know, there is nothing better at curing an admiration for socialism than having to live under it.

We don’t have the kind of petro wealth that the Scandinavians have to artificially prop the system up, and we’re nearly in default as it is. So I expect it won’t take too long for Americans to start feeling the effects.

I think Americans will have to eat food in the swine pen for three generations before they realize that socialism sucks, that communism kills and that freedom rocks.

Hmm, over-65s fighting under-30s isn’t really a great war plan. Germany tried that in the last days of WWII and it didn’t work out too well.

“Implementing socialism after you’re already $18 trillion in debt is like ordering new lifeboats for the Titanic after it has already struck the iceberg.”

Actually, I’d say it is more like tossing the lifeboats overboard in an attempt to lose weight and keep the ship afloat. It won’t work, and in the end, it will only make the situation worse.

Young people are only libertarian when it comes to decriminalizing weed and the Pauls are nuts.

That "Youth for Santorum" movement is all the way up to half a dozen members now, I hear. :)
