Tough job, but somebody has to do it. For the 44th year in a row, the American Conservative Union has released its annual Congressional ratings for lawmakers who either uphold conservative values - or find them akin to kryptonite. The ratings have become a kind of gold standard, the organization says, in holding every member of Congress accountable for their voting record - and their support of limited government, prosperity, individual freedom and traditional values.
There are several takeaways from ACUs 2014 Rating of Congress, says Matt Schlapp, chairman of the group. First, the liberals in Congress tend to vote together as a block. The Left does a great job of enforcing lockstep orthodoxy, to the detriment of the constituents they represent. When it comes to passing real conservative reforms, the Left collectively obstructs implementation of commonsense economic, national security, and cultural reforms.
On a 100-point ratings system for their conservative voting records, there are essentially no Democrats in House or Senate who breeched the 40th percentile. Over 30 Democrats had a score of 0 percent this year, including Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia.
We can only conclude that the former Democratic National Committee Chairman plans to serve one-term representing the Commonwealth of Virginia before he returns to lead the fringe portion of the liberal activist base, Mr. Schlapp observes.
A slim few Republicans were rated between 40 and 49 percent on the scale, with the majority of them scoring 60 percent and above. Sixteen earned a 100 percent rating this year, including Sen. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and Rep. Ron De Santis.

Ooooh. Let me guess. Is it Cornyn?
What happens to that 100% when his vote on the Iranian deal is factored in? He caved to McConnell and Hussein right along with the rest of the gopes.
I want to see some defense of that Iranian vote. Any takers?
I keep reading that he voted for cloture on the trade bill, which is a vote in favor of the trade bill, which hands over more power to Obama. If he is conservative, why does he trusts Obama, despite the warnings from Senator Jeff Sessions?
Which vote (by bill number) are you talking about?

“What happens to that 100% when his vote on the Iranian deal is factored in? He caved to McConnell and Hussein right along with the rest of the gopes.”
the vote was 98 to 1.
Exactly what person do you hold as the conservative in the Senate?
Do you realize that an affirmative vote meant the Congress must approve any treaty with Iran?
Guess you would prefer Obama acting alone.
Who? There’s sixteen with a 100% rating.
I'll guess. Jeb Bush was born in Midland Texas. Is it Jebbie? Is it the pro-Amnesty, pro-Obamacare, pro-Big FedGov establishment insider who became a Floridan?
You will never find a candidate who agrees 100% with you unless you run yourself. Then no one would agree with you.

It is Cruz - and for those asking about recent votes the article about ACU only covers through 2014 - not 2015
From above (last line):
Sixteen earned a 100 percent rating this year, including Sen. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and Rep. Ron De Santis.
“What happens to that 100% when his vote on the Iranian deal is factored in? He caved to McConnell and Hussein right along with the rest of the gope”
No, he didn’t. In these cases it is cloture that matters. He voted correctly on that. On his Senate vote, he voted to have a continuing voice in the discussion. He votes no, he loses that voice.
The bad deal with Iran that Obama proposes is not a treaty requiring 2/3 majority of the Senate for approval. The recent legislation in the U.S. Senate turns the 2/3 approval requirement upside down and in effect it will require 2/3 majority of Congress to prevent Obama from proceeding with the bad deal.
During debate on the bill in the U.S. Senate, Senator Cruz offered an Amendment to prevent the Senate from neutering itself, turning the Constitution upside down and abandoning the Senate's authority to approve a deal requiring 2/3 majority, but it was not accepted. Cruz voted against ending debate on the Senate bill to delay passage (Nay on cloture) but that side did not prevail.
Cruz correctly pointed out in his speech on the Senate floor during debate that Obama's deal with Iran does not have the weight of a treaty under authority of the Constitution. The next President can rescind it completely without the approval of Congress.
In the final vote for the bill (98-1), Sen. Cruz, Sen. Lee and others who strongly oppose the Iran deal recognize that some oversight in Obama's treachery and a means to slow down the process is preferable to allowing Obama to proceed unabated. In providing this oversight, it's their intent to oppose the deal and prevent lifting of sanctions against Iran at every opportunity. This fight is NOT over.
Lots of drama going on, but reality is that Cruz is going to get my vote and real money. And the vote of many more like me.

Cruz is getting my money and my vote as well! I am not going to run down other Republicans but I intend to vote for Cruz in the primary and hopefully in the general election as well.
I want ALL the dims gone!
I don't see much reason to run down anyone except those that have said they are liberal.
Self admitted liberals are fair game. ;)

Exactly!
Only 1 Republican running for president scored a 100% conservative rating of SENATORS. Governors were not rated, for obvious reasons. Since governors usually win presidential contests, that matters.
FYI: I support Walker, but would also love to have Cruz as president. A Walker-Cruz ticket would be too good to be true.
