Law enforcement officers at Washington, D.C.s annual Police Week tell The Daily Caller that the anti-police climate is taking its toll on the men and women in uniform and that morale is low in departments across the country.
One source told TheDC Monday night that officers have stepped back from engaging in proactive policing, because they often see the same violent criminals they arrest immediately released on to the streets.

My dad was nearly killed in the Watts riots and he wasn’t even a policeman, just working there that day on a construction project. WWII, Korea and early Vietnam couldn’t get him, but the animals almost did. They’ve been rioting for going on 50 years now.
Double the bet on that.
The Lord gives us gifts and talents to serve others and we shouldn’t let a few bad apples discourage us. The lazy media can find bad apples in every profession: priesthood, academia, police work and nursing. However, we just need supportive Americans and careful mentors to make life worth living.
Thanks for posting what I was thinking.
Officer Safety is Always Paramount! ;)
O’bungler says: “Unexpected”
For white cops, its not worth the risk arresting a black suspect. More trouble than its worth.
They don’t need second-guessing from prosecutors, community organizers and Washington.
Being a cop is just too dangerous and I do not mean from the criminal element.
I know how you feel. I chose a career in energy systems, mainly burning coal. Always thought I was doing good for society providing low-cost, plentiful, and cheap energy. I wouldn’t follow that career path again (I got out about 15 years ago when the handwriting on the wall was all too clear). Another career path destroyed by all-powerful government meddling and interference.
Here in Tucson, the leftist sheriff’s department were filmed practically drooling over home invading a Marine’s house only a few years ago. They gunned him down in front of his wife and baby and left him to bleed out and die instead of calling the paramedics. Oops, they had the wrong house.
Thanks. That’s the way I view it and yours is the first encouragement I’ve yet had.
Obama has screwed up so many things in USA! He cannot leave office soon enough for us.
Kinda agree, but don't want proven murderers on the streets, but your basic thug, okay.
Let's support the bleeding hearts and there so-called compassion for their fellow man and see how they react when burglarize, mugged, or attacked. Can't you just hear the screams for more police funding?...as they get their clueless unarmed asses kicked or deaded?
Those who they think the poor wittle black boys should get more more money to fix their days of "slavery" will be the first to go once the rioters have the balls to infiltrate white neighborhoods.
Your suggestion has been done to a small degree in California because of liberal complaints of over crowding. Many of those released criminals have gone on to further crimes. There's a word for them - recidivists. However, Utopia is just a dream away if we just spend mo' money, mo' money on crap like "midnight basketball" that worked so well. Pfft.
My solution: start arresting and harshly punish the baby-daddies who leave their children. It wouldn't be difficult to track them down. Just tell the welfare Mother she is cut off until she names them.
Question: Didn't we meet at BobJ's house or some other early FR event? Maybe the demonstration in Palm Springs?
Wow. That is one of the best if not THE best graphics I’ve seen of Obambi’s racial bias. Saved to the hard drive. Thank you.
Low morale in the military as well.
When your bosses are looking to fire you, it leads to that.
the local police need not go down that path....the vast majority of the population would have their backs if they would only let them...
I remember that event well. If I recall Pima County (tax payers) eventually settled with the family for about 3.5 million.
A county insider called the agreement a, “Calculated risk-management settlement.”
100% respect. A few bad apples will never remove the joy of using our talents to serve the Lord and his people.
I retired from my Sheriff’s Department at detective Sergeant in 2002, after 30 years of service. It was a hell of a ride.
Good luck and stay safe.
