SYDNEY: Growing sea ice surrounding Antarctica could prompt scientists to consider relocating research stations on the continent, according to the operations manager of the Australian Antarctic Division.
Tony Worby, from an Australian centre studying Antarctic climate and ecosystems, said that in contrast to the Arctic where global warming is causing ice to melt and glaciers to shrink, sea ice around Antarctica was increasing.
Rob Wooding said that resupplying Australia's Mawson Station -- the longest continuously operated outpost in Antarctica -- relied on access to a bay, a task increasingly complicated by sea ice blocking the way.
"In the 2013-4 season we couldn't get anywhere near Mawson due to the sea ice and we had to get fuel in there by helicopter which is inadequate for the long-term sustainability of the station," he said.

I like how the author states that “Global warming” is causing the ice to melt in the Arctic. No, if anything that would be “Arctic warming” just like in Antarctica the ice is increasing not because of “Global cooling” but because of “Antarctic cooling.”
There is something here I don’t understand. I know that ice is roughly 90% as dense as water, which is why 10% of an ice berg is visible. If that ice melts, that 10% that was above the water line gets added to the ocean. But since the whole iceberg is now liquid it also has 10% less total volume. So the net effect of a melted iceberg on the water level should be zero.
Yes? No?
Isn't Global Warming an outstanding theory? EVERY observation of ANYTHING is proof.
The sea levels rise that warmists postulate is due to the melting of ice sheets that are currently on land, in the arctic and antarctic, and places like Greenland. I doubt that anyone is worried about the water volume of icebergs.
I got it! Warm air rises, cold air sinks. So the north pole is warming, the south pole getting colder. Oh wait........

The why should the global warmists care if the artic ice (which is sea ice) is melting?
Yep, sea ice has no effect on ocean levels (think of ice in a glass, as it melts, the water level in the glass doesn’t change). As land cover ice melts, there should be a change in ocean levels. It hasn’t really happened yet which makes one wonder about global warming.
There’s more ice than ever in Antarctica. This proves global warming is a hoax.

Global warming is about the here and now and I culture. There was a tropical storm last week so the world’s climate must be changing. Its 90 degrees in the shade today - the world is heating drastically. I must buy a prius to stop my carbon footrint. Prius’ are the worst thing one can do for the environment because long after you are dead the batteries you use in that electric car will still not even be halfway decayed not to mention the battery acid.Not to mention that it requires men in hazmat suits to clean up if you ever get into a crash with your prius.
Environmentalists are dumber than the rocks they think the protect. The world’s climate is cyclical and always be. Just because we are in phase does not mean another phase will happen.
Save the environment....don’t let environmentalists breed!
