Franklin Graham: 'Draw Muhammad' event went too far (what happened to FG?)
WND ^ | Cheryl Chumley

Franklin Graham, one of the world’s best-known Christian evangelists and the head of the nonprofit Samaritan’s Purse, said in a Wednesday morning Fox & Friends interview the “folks in Garland were wrong” to hold their “Draw Muhammad” event. ”

As a Christian, I don’t like it when people mock my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” he said. “What this event was doing in Texas was mocking Islam. I disagree with [them].” Graham said today’s society is lacking in civility and the “folks in Garland were wrong” to further that tone. “I think we need to show respect and civility,” he said.

“We need to respect one another … and those that believe differently [from my faith], I’m not going to mock them.”

And I was discussing the other day about what might have discouraged Muslims with their own ideas of spreading their faith from viewing the USA as a particularly open door for that. The willingness to even do such seemingly mundane things as wishing people God bless them (in sincerity) and Merry Christmas, etc. would have enabled the flow of the Spirit through those people into the situation... and would have been a turn-off for these Muslims. I don’t think it’s too late, though it may be a confluence of evil things that finally forces Christendom to go back to its roots lest it perish.

From my seat and view, I objectively see a world in which beliefs or worldviews are rarely affected.

There are way to many “outs” being provided by our current Government. Out’s, are both monetary and/or an excuse to blame someone else for their troubles.

Nanny state?

Yes.

Why?

To avoid conflict.

To avoid critical decision making.

Our government is providing an “Out” for, and is encouraging people to think less for themselves.

The only thing that may change a persons worldview is Crisis.

Personal Crisis.

Our government is doing everything possible to remove a potential Crisis from the populace.

A Brave New World.

After your extreme mental breakdown, I place little in what you have to say.

I don’t particularly want to live in our head; its not a sanitary place.

Of course you would know so much more than the great prophet Elijah.

We’ll be able to tell when he sends a chariot for you.

You may just have said a mouthful of truth there.

Islamic intimidation is relentless.

No way Rooster....islam is not a “faith” unless a theological militant murderous oppresive cult is now defined as “faith”....with that train of thought how do we address satanist’s?...is that also a “faith?”

Trying to compare the Geller event to this does not work well.

I agree.

As a Christian, I don't think it's right to mock or ridicule others' beliefs, because I don't want others to do that to me.

However, I don't believe there is a "duty not to offend" others. Moslems can be "outraged" by having the Koran read to them, because some of them don't like its contents. This was a cause of action against some Christian pastors in Australia: they had "vilified Islam" by reading the Koran aloud!

Pam Geller's activity is political defiance, and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Given the insane "sensitivity" of Moslems, it wouldn't be any better if she simply stood up in front of an audience and discussed the dangers of Islam from a political perspective.

Maybe this is a message to crazy Christians to blow up some abortion clinics and to shoot some smash mouth atheists and queers who speak wrongly against Christ?

Graham is not a real deep thinker.

>> “There is a difference between mock and defy” <<

And you’ll apparently never understand it.

Paul definitely mocked the Athenians when he told them he would declare their own “unknown god” to them. There was no defiance in that.

What’s to defy in a false god? As Paul said often, they are nothing.

The same goes for the other apostles. They weren’t so immature and ignorant as to defy a god that didn’t exist. Defiance would indicate something was there that could be defied.

You are correct, he is a puffer.

Geller stole everyone’s fire, and the stuffed shirts just can’t take it. She showed them all for the pantie-waists that they are.

This equivalence would be valid, IF:

Christians murdered those who mocked Jesus Christ, or

Muslims didn’t murder those who mock Muhammad—or merely draw a picture of him.

You would have a point, if “Christian” were a synonym for “nice.”
