Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said Sunday that the United States is facing a new era in which a lone-wolf terrorist could “strike at any moment.”
“We’re very definitely in a new environment, because of ISIL’s effective use of social media, the Internet, which has the ability to reach into the homeland and possibly inspire others,” Johnson said in an interview with ABC’s “This Week,” using the administration's preferred acronym for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
“Because of the use of the Internet, we could have little or no notice in advance of an independent actor attempting to strike.”
As a result, Johnson said, the federal government is making a greater effort to engage with state and local law enforcement and encourage them to be “vigilant” about what is happening in their communities.
Part of this effort is meeting with Muslim community leaders and urging them to counter ISIS's recruitment campaign on social media, which Johnson called “slick” and “effective.”
Lawmakers and experts have been critical of the federal government’s attempts to challenge that campaign, with Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) reportedly calling the efforts “laughable.”
Johnson took issue with this description, but acknowledged that community leaders are in the best position to reach out to individuals which might be vulnerable to radicalization.
“It has to come from Islamic leaders, who frankly can talk the language better than the federal government can,” he said.
“And so when I meet with community leaders, Islamic leaders, that’s one of the things that we urge them to do.”
The interview took place two days after the military increased security at U.S. bases over concerns about terrorist threats.
Authorities are also investigating an attempted attack on a Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest outside of Dallas, Texas for which ISIS has claimed credit.
And one needs to keep in mind that DHS doesn’t view Muslim terrorists as terrorists.
They view conservatives and soldiers as terrorists according to the memo.

They need to realize that the government is not an automated PEZ dipenser of free goodies and good will towards all men. They need to wakeup and understand that the government is not a machine. At the moment it’s made up of many selfish men and women with very high opinions of themselves with agendas to create wealth and power by stealing from the taxpayer pool. People who care nothing about them other than their votes to keep them in power.

While I agree with the sentiment you actually give him too much credit. He is doing a bang up job of destroying the country but he is, after all, a puppet and he stands on the shoulders of giants who came before him. The process of destroying America has been ongoing for generations.
Just as vital, however, is drastically reducing the LEGAL immigration of Islam into our homeland. The vast majority of foreign-born Muslims arrive via legal visa or refugee channels. A smaller number overstay temporary visas.
It is possible that ISIS types would cross the southern border illegally, but it would be much easier to just recruit from the legal immigrant/U.S. citizen Muslim population already here. We need to stop growing that poison in our homeland.
The Feds have this really annoying habit of knowing about pretty much every Muslim Terrorist attack and not letting anyone know about it until after it happens. And those involved were well known to them and have long rap sheets for other acts of terrorism and their associations and associates of other Muslim Terrorist organizations.
The next attack will be another false flag and will be used to implement martial law.

These two Alinsky rules keep coming to when I think about that. I’m not so sure it will go down as easily as they think it will. In facr I think they may just bite off more than they can chew. I would think they should be more worried about us than us about them. Anyone can wield a weapon but that doesn’t mean you can force anyone to do anything against their will just because you have one.
