Securing the fast track authority to finalize a new trade deal, covering 40 percent of Americas exports, is a top priority for the Obama White House. The agreement, named the Trans-Pacific Partnership, would set new rules for Americas economic relations with Asia.

I just heard Tom McClintock is FOR IT????? Yes, he is.
And he's absolutely right.
Last Saturday morning, Larry Kudlow interviewed him: audio (space in to about 39m27s).

Why the secrecy. I can’t support something I am not allowed to know about. Mark Levin says it is just cover and is really not about trade at all but about rewarding cronies AND about amnesty, etc.

The majority of Congress Critters are lawyers, and yet, they don’t seem to possess good, common sense. We need to have more Davy Crocketts in the Congress - or at least his famous words - “you can all go to hell, I’m going to Texas!”

If Obama knew a republican majority would be so easy he would have sent Harry Reid packing six years ago.

Remember after the first week of November 2014, so many were gloating Elections mean something! and gleefully believed that the GOP victories would turn this nation around? I do — and I told them that the only thing the landslide elections meant was that the GOP would take it as proof that (a) they don't need to DO anything, and (b) that saying "I'm not Democrat" is enough to win. — It is somewhat disappointing to see so many people didn't see it.

It looks like the Republican congressional victory in 2014 has turned out to have made things worse. "Bipartisanship" gives cover for every destructive piece of legislation.
Someday McConnell and Boehner will have to answer for what they've done. It's something they might want to reflect on between gimlets.

Free trade agreements could be written on a single page. This isn’t about free trade.

But the Rah, Rah GOP club, even here, are STILL flapping their stinking pie holes over their ‘lesser of two evils’ mantra.

Yep.
I wonder if so called conservatives and libertarians will ever learn.

Remember after the first week of November 2014, so many were gloating Elections mean something! and gleefully believed that the GOP victories would turn this nation around? Yup, and now there appears to be some kind of mass amnesia about that phenomenon. You try to point that out, and you're hit with some who angrily say "I don't remember any such posts! Prove it!"

“theres not a rational argument against free trade. whats a pity is that we feel like we have to have a treaty ensuring it.”
American manufacturing and jobs have left our shores by the millions, jobs that would have been created numbers in the millions, unemployment is 15 - 20 percent, our balance of payments deficit is in the hundreds of billions, our economic growth has been stagnant and it is all because of free trade. I could keep going on. How often do you buy anything that is manufactured in the United States?

I remember them, and the Harry Reid Thanks You!
posts to those of us who weren't fooled into voting for the lesser of two evils.
(Also, notice how the Lesser Of Two Evils crowd was also cheering for the likes of Boehner and McConnell? As much as I despise the argument, I have to ask how could electing a freshman Democrat congressman be worse than reelecting those corrupt incumbents?
— I never got a straight answer.)
