Islam-Fearing Tajikistan Says Hijab Is for Prostitutes
Eurasianet ^ | 27 April 2015 | Eurasia.net

In his Mother’s Day speech last month, Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon criticized women who wear “foreign” clothing, especially the black veils associated with conservative Islam. Within days, officials began threatening shopkeepers who sell hijab, the Islamic head covering for women; a few days later state television reported that sex workers are using hijab to drive up their prices.

“Since ancient times our people have had beautiful women’s dresses, our girls have never worn black clothes. Traditionally, black clothes are not welcome,” Rahmon told mothers ahead of Mother’s Day, which has replaced International Women’s Day in Tajikistan and is marked on March 8

Three days after the president’s speech, state television aired a report claiming to tell the stories of sex workers who hide beneath the hijab. Women in the video – whose faces were covered by their veils – said they earned more money by wearing hijab, that the veil made them more attractive to potential clients. In case anyone missed the point, a voiceover explained that the women wear hijab because they are greedy.

Muso Akobirov, 45, a migrant worker who travels to Russia for seasonal work, wants his wife and daughters to wear hijab. But he complains that he and other Muslims lack a voice in Rahmon’s authoritarian system.

“This is God’s will. We cannot and have no right to refuse it. What makes it offensive is the fact that we cannot argue,” Akobirov told EurasiaNet.org. He said that if he or his friends debate the authorities, “we will be imprisoned and declared terrorists.”

"We cannot and have no right to refuse it. What makes it offensive is the fact that we cannot argue,"

Well, Gee! Golly!
Kinda what you Moslems do to the Kuffir and Dhimmi in your countries, eh?

You don't like the local rules, I guess you could always STAY HOME.

“But he complains that he and other Muslims lack a voice “

go move to the new Islamic State....you can wear all the hijibs you want...

...I puke when I read stories like this....Islam demands the death of those who draw cartoons - force submission on others - enslave - rape - and maim others that do not believe as they do....and then CRY CRY CRY when other do the same to them that they take so much pride in doing to others....

...shows what a weak and cowardly so-called faith they are...

Actually, girls are not covered until they are on the cusp of puberty. Until age 12 or so they run around like little scamps, free like their brothers.

Why?

This is the “shopping” age, when their older male cousins and uncles get to see who will be the pretty teenage girls among them. By age 13 they are covered up, ready to be thrust into their “arranged marriage” legal rape contract.

Please read this, and share it with your bliss-ninny utopian liberal friends and relatives.

Women who read this will have an entirely different view of Islam. It’s an excerpt from Hirsan Ali’s book “Infidel.”

I have always contended that Islam is not a religion, especially not one of "peace", in the true sense of the word. I contend that because they murder, maim, and mutilate people who do not agree with them, that they are a cult, a cult of death and not a religion.

Rhetorically speaking, name me one other major world religion who's followers are told to kill those who disagree with them. Shunned maybe, excommunicated maybe, outcasted maybe, ostracized maybe, banned maybe, condemned maybe, denounced maybe, repudiated maybe. But not murdered for the slightest offense to their "religious" tenants.

Waiting, waiting, waiting. Chirp. Chirp. Chirp.

For what it’s worth, the source, “eurasianet,” appears to be astroturf generated by the “Open Society Institute,” leisure service of the notorious Chairman Soros and his cadres.

“What makes it offensive is the fact that we cannot argue,” Akobirov told EurasiaNet.org. He said that if he or his friends debate the authorities, “we will be imprisoned and declared terrorists.”

What makes it offensive is that they cannot take over and control everyone else.

LOL - an unintended consequence that might be a great incentive to end the silliness of radical Islam... Here's hoping western hookers take it up... (no pun intended)

FreeRepublic should consider 'marking' threads from known liberal sites...( placing a yellow asterisk next to the headline would work).

It's tiresome being a third into a piece only to discover it's liberal propaganda - - or a 'stick the conservative' and make him mad hit piece.

I'm not saying these articles should be banned, just that they should be marked. This is a conservative site and having such a high proportion of liberal stuff being surreptitiously posted is uncomfortable. A yellow asterisk on urasianet or New Republic etc would be nice...

Yes, they act just like our democrats, who are trying mightily to control free speech by banning words here. It must not be allowed to happen.
