A strange idea has been running through some of the commentary about Baltimore: wasnt electing Barack Obama supposed to fix this? Why are black people still so mad all the time when we elected a black president? This idea is not new, nor is it terribly hard to find. On Thursday, it popped up in a New York Times report on Hillary Clintons speech calling for an overhaul of the criminal justice system following the death of Freddie Gray. Political journalists Amy Chozick and Michael Barbaro included this analysis of how the events in Baltimore might alter Obama's presidential legacy:
For those seeking the White House, the conflagration in Baltimore exposed a complicated truth: The racial comity that the election of Barack Obama seemed to promise has not materialized, forcing them to grapple with a red-hot, deeply unresolved dynamic that strays far from their carefully crafted messages and favored themes.
I dont think any of the candidates want or expect the summer of 2015 to be like the summer of 1968, when race riots hit major American cities, said Rick Wilson, a longtime Republican political strategist who is not aligned with any campaign....

Pity the poor police officers: according to the evidence I have seen, they were only trying to do their job.
Trying to appease Liberals and Black Racists is roughly the same as pouring blood in the water thinking the sharks will appreciate the gesture.
They've been preaching and singing about "the revolution" for generations (who planted those very anti-Christian ideas is another discussion).
They're weaned on hatred. It's driven them mad.
Haven’t read the article, but I’ll give points for a good title.
I didn’t vote for Obama to solve this issue.
As a matter of fact, I didn’t for him at all. He turned out just like I thought he would, but even I didn’t see race matters getting this bad.
It’s going to be a long hot summer and we’re looking at two of them before we lose this communist.
If Obama was any kind of man, he would have proclaimed in 2008 that with his election, racial politics was over.
But no, instead he made racial politics the order of the day
maybe ‘the blacks’ are upset because...
1. the so-called ‘black’ in the White House isn’t even an American and has never experienced ‘the black American life’
2. the same so-called ‘president’ has almost completely destroyed the American economy...resulting in more Americans out of work than anytime in at least the last 40 years.... and especially ‘black Americans’
3. the so-called “black American’ in the White House has broken the constitutional allocations of powers (many times), the law and existing regs to import millions and millions of foreigns who ARE TAKING JOBS away from Americans, especially ‘blacks’
4. the so-called ‘black American president” spends zero time with the ‘black community,’ all his contacts are through extremist left-wing violent wacko big-mouth rip-off artists (don’t think for a moment that most “black folk’ don’t realize this! ... it is one thing for a politician to pander a bit to Sharpton... it is another thing for a politician to kiss the likes of JesseJackson and Sharpton’s asses on a daily schedule...and ignore the genuine ‘black community leadership’ in this country)
5. now the so-called “black community’ sees Obama laying the groundwork for the next major world war... (arming Iran with nukes, no less!)....and ‘black men’ typically wind up fighting “more than their share” in America’s wars
6. Obama’s “free medical care” turns out to be either non-existent or a farce for most ‘recipients’...
7. Obama continues the D party destruction of the ‘black family and community’.....instead of reversing some of the ‘program incentives’ that break up families
as many had hoped when they voted for a so=called “black’ man
8. black Americans see racial relations going right down the toilet again....due mostly to ObamaHolderJackson and Company. They are not blind and they are not stupid...yes, they are participating in the problem BUT everyone realizes there would be no race riots if the political leadership weren’t pulling for, encouraging the riots to break out
9. the :blacks’ see Obama giving all sorts of special advantages and benefits and subsidies and handouts to Obama’s IslamoNazi ‘immigrant’ pals.....and to Mexicans too......including “cuts in line” that used to EITHER not exist.....(when we had a fair system).....or that used to benefit black Americans.
10. ObamaPhones are breaking down now, as they were junque to begin with.
The New Republic Nazis should be given the same credibility as Stormfront.
Because nothing placates racist and racialphobic blacks.
We here all knew this would never fix anything.
Think jesse and al would give up the race baiting industry?
Think colleges will?
"We elect this inept gay Affirmative Action Anus twice, and still his homies are tryin' to kill us?"
Dude, stop reading my mind.
Great post.
Not many white men voted for the guy. Some gay ones I guess.
Life is not fair. It is not fair to Blacks, nor to whites or Hispanics or Martians. Some people are raised to believe that life should be fair and is fair for other people, but not for them.
A lot of the problem is meeting the expectation gap.
That Shabazz in the news and at these riots has now said he wants people to blow up White nursery schools and nurseries.
And no one says, “Boo!”
Another writer who hears something Rush said, but hears wrong or draws the wrong conclusion. Rush often discussed the "tacit bargain", but his actual expectation was that race relations would be worse with Obama in the WH and he has been proven 100% correct. Many or most of his listeners agreed with that.
What’s interesting is how completely obsessed with their race a very very large percent of them are.
I was checking out the FaceBook profiles of many potential employment candidates this week. Almost every one was quoting Malcolm a or had some quote about the “white man” etc.
I don’t want it, but I expect it.
