Cruz- This bill was a missed opportunity. If Congress had acted to defend our constitutional authority if Congress had adopted the Cruz-Toomey amendment then we would be able to stop a bad Iran deal. Instead, the odds are now overwhelming that under these ground rules President Obama will negotiate, and Congress will acquiesce to, a terrible deal that allows Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and will endanger the lives of millions of Americans and our allies.
I voted no on cloture because we should have insisted on amendments to put real teeth in this bill. Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because it may delay, slightly, President Obamas ability to lift the Iran sanctions and it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal. I will continue to lead the fight to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to protect the national security of America and our allies.

” Its a fashion statement on FR lately for libs to start off their Ted Cruz posts with Ted Cruz just lost my vote! “
LOL!!
No imagination.....no originality
Oh just wait. One of the loudest voices for Party unity and lesser evil has made his appearance on the thread. He’s famous you know...
Personally, I only care about conservative candidates. You can’t even print my feelings about the Republican party, since November.
Agree with all you say.
Although, I have to admit, I would pay good money to see that last part happen. I can dream, you know...
It’s my understanding that Sen. Cotton voted NO, and Babs Boxer was not
in the chamber for the vote. All others voted YES. Cruz was right, here. Before cloture was the time to give the Bill teeth. Cruze knew the measure was weak and shouldnt go to the floor for a vote. Once the cloture was assured it was too late to make it any meaningful amendments so all that could be done was to symbolically vote YES to show Obutthole the Senate was of one mind in opposition. But only symbolically because the measure has no enforcement regime. Just my $.02 worth.
Well I mean considering every prediction we made happened...
Considering that all the screaming and hollering about party unity and Reoubs are a lesser evil and all that...
I can’t for the life of me understand why you’d be upset with the people that proved everything we said absolutely correct. From the flip flops to the capitulation to the trashing the people that elected them to assisting Barry with Obamacare, interfering with the Bhenghazi investigations, arming terrorists...
How can you be upset? I think you need to go listen to Levin and Inghram. They’ll set you straight. It’s a lesser evil and evil is good!
” I think you need to go listen to Levin and Inghram. Theyll set you straight. Its a lesser evil and evil is good!”
But,I don’t listen to them: )
Well thats why our fine and noble GOP can’t make any headway! It’s all on you damn purists like Thurston screams about whenever he isn’t disappearing from threads when the poop gets deep. You know, I hear Mark is ‘this close’ to bolting the party...THIS CLOSE!!!
And if you had a shred of humanity, you’d blame victims for bring things on themselves.
You suck!
Mea culpa......BIG TIME.......
Go say 5 Dan Rathers and 8 Hail Barrys and you shall be forgiven my son...
I will listen.
Mark Levin called this bill a total capitulation to both Obama and Iran.
Republicans should have told Sen. McConnell to go to hell and voted against it because, according to Levin, there is no way that the GOP can get a 2/3 majority vote from Obama’s lockstepping Democratic Senators on anything challenging Obama.
Time for some Republican senators to resign from the GOP, leaving just enough to keep control of the Senate, but not enough to do anything without the new Independents. With the Marxist Democrats specifically targeting GOP Senators with the aim of taking back the Senate in 2016, this might be a wakeup call to all Republicans as to how incompetent McConnell and Bonehead are.
If we are going to win, let’s do it on McConnell’s watch.
Without a strong conservative leader to step up for the presidency, America will continue its slid into a stronger Marxist authoritarian regime led by the Dems.
Hi Elk,
You already know this stuff probably better than I do. It’s not you that needs to listen, of course. It’s the fruit bats out there that fully intend to keep repeating the madness and then coming here and crying the blues and looking for evil purists to purge their consciences on.
Levin also supported most of them in the last election and told people to elect them so he should sit down and shut up since his wisdom helped put us in this position.
> The Republican leadership has been liberal from the beginning; they did not cave to anyone.
> Bad idea to put ones faith in a man, besides.
Both of those are really true.
So ignore 'purist'.
What the anti-Cruz crowd here is, is liberal.
Yep. Liberal.
They think that by screaming 'purist' they can cover up the fact they are completely in the tank for the GOP-E and completely liberal.

Not only am I listening but this is verrry good popcorn. Go get ‘em!
Yes. Just like skipping the Lynch vote. He's thinking of the MSM attack questions during the campaign.
I like Cruz and pray for the chance to vote for him.
Don't much like this nonsense. The effing point is to stop Obama and his surrender to the mullahs. The Senate--THE REPUBLICAN SENATE---has betrayed us again.
Cruz can do no wrong. /s
Can I substitute just one Chuck Berry ?
