Elton Simpson (on left) , reportedly tweeted minutes before the attack that he and his fellow assailant had pledged allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The FBI knew Elton Simpson was heading to Garland, Texas. It’s not clear if local authorities were notified.
FBI Director James Coomey said they may have missed others.
Comey added: “There are “hundreds, maybe thousands” of people across the country who are receiving recruitment overtures or directives to attack the U.S.”

What pisses me off is they didn’t bother to tell Garland police, let them do all the work, and then the FBI came in at a late hour and took over. The took affidavits from all of us and got our personal info, and didn’t release our cars until the next day.

The Obama admin probably figured that if a hundred people got massacred that it would help start a “national conversation” about “hate speech” and the need for legislation curbing “offensive speech”.

I don’t think they knew anything myself. If they did find out “minutes” before the attack, it was because NSA probably tagged one of their tweets, FB or other postings that day or night before.
