It’s nice that states are finally starting to realize this is a problem. But it’s been a problem since the 1970s and before. The best part is that if ridiculous alimony is awarded, even if the man appeals, *he still has to pay that alimony while the appeal is going on* in addition to paying the not-cheap lawyers. Most men realize that having a net negative income because of paying lawyers + alimony is a losing proposition so they just suck it up and pay the alimony.
As for my attitude: I might have a better attitude if the courts (not just in Texas but all over the country) weren’t so biased in the woman’s favor.
Thank you for providing a list of cases where it was determined the husband was not required to pay unreasonable expenses.
