Marilyn Mosby 2Watch how quickly this case begins to collapse as the real evidence begins to come to the surface. Activist, and State Attorney, Marilyn Mosby originally said:
[ ] Officer Miller and Nero then placed Mr. Gray in a seated position and substantially found a knife clipped to the inside of his pants pocket. The blade of the knife was folded into the handle. The knife was not a switchblade and is lawful under Maryland law. These officers then removed the knife and placed it on the sidewalk.
[
] Lt. Rice, Officer Miller and Officer Nero failed to establish probable cause for Mr. Grays arrest as no crime had been committed by Mr. Gray. Accordingly Lt. Rice Officer MIller and Office Nero illegally arrested Mr. Gray. (link)

Of course they can call that spring assisted and will if they want to arrest you. But if they like you then they won’t even look into it.
Cops, lawyers, and judges don’t know the law, but you do ! LOL.
Depends on what your state laws states.
Sounds like Mosby jumped the gun...
Yes I do. I don’t know all the laws, but when I research it then tell my lawyer and then he agrees (After reading what I provided him) he says he understands it.
The magistrate is a joke. They don’t know much really. The part where it gets complicated is in case law...meaning law that isn’t really written, but you have to look at previous rulings to see how laws were applied by other courts. So the law can say you aren’t allowed to beat your wife with a stick more than 1/2” in diameter. But case law will show that law is OBE and no one pays attention to it.
There are people who lives are dedicated to law and they will even disagree over the law...so cops use this to arrest people erroneously. Sometimes on purpose other times in an honest error. The system is messed up big time.
Cops are punished for ratting out other cops. The law is too confusing for most to easily understand. And when it is understood there is a ton of case law that no one will even know it all.
We need legal reform in this country.
BTW: How do you know I’m not a lawyer, a judge, or a police officer? Or have been one in the past? ;-)
And? That’s nothing more than an infringement.
Oh I see you just answer the question from left field instead of answering the question which makes it relevant.
Who do you blame for the garland TX shootings?
Artists?
Muslim Terrorists?
The Baltimore City code specifically names spring assisted blade knives as illegal in the city. The arrest report specifically states that the knife was illegal in the city of Baltimore. The cops were right and I hope this prosecutor gets her rear end handed to her at the hearing.
In some states, laws are written in such a way that if you are stopped for any crime, almost anything you have on you can become a “prohibited weapon”.
I carry a folding pocket knife and have no trouble and break no law. If I am caught committing some crime, suddenly that folded pocket knife can become a “prohibited weapon”.
The point is, it Wasn’t legal The Baltimore city code specifically prohibits spring assisted blade knives and that is what the arrest report cited. The prosecutor is wrong.
For the record, more cops die every year in the line of duty than Black people who are killed by cops. The professional victims of this country just don’t talk about that, nor do they acknowledge that if the Blacks had not been resisting arrest, they would still be alive.
In this case, these officers made a legal arrest and the knife violates Baltimore City codes. Their arrest report was accurate.
Twenty arrests over the past six years and no attempts to break his neck ever recorded. But this time, they decide they're going to break his neck....for carrying a knife?
Maybe you don't know what you think you know.
Just to make it more interesting, the Supreme Court just upheld that cops can be excused for some reasonable mistakes in their interpretation of the law...
Well if you are then I hope you write your reports better than how you write your posts.
I also would expect you to remember what you write,i.e. you bringing up Garland and then asking why Garland was brought up.
Garland is with a G not a small g. You are no lawyer or judge for sure.
exactly a stat which the anarchists, occupy movement, WTO protestors and black racists do not like getting out.
well said.
Yeah but when it happens to us they say ignorance of the law is no excuse.
I never said it was intentional only that *some people* seem to think that since he had a knife, that makes it alright that he’s dead. I don’t care if he had just killed some old lady and was preparing her liver for consumption when he was arrested. It’s not relevant as to the cause of death. Same with his prior arrest record: irrelevant.
